Re: clean, and everything having a place: those are key for me. Lived for years and years with crap appliances, fake butcher block (then baby blue) laminate, a kitchen that some fool floored in soft pine (don’t even get me started), insufficient cabinets & storage & no more than 36” of continuous counter space, and every other kitchen deficiency you can imagine.

Finally built & got exactly what I wanted, and all my crap has a designated spot. Adjacent deep hall storage closets hold bulk supplies, now that I’m running a micro-bakery out of my home kitchen. It’s easy to clean because everything gets put away.

Has my cooking gotten any better? LOL, no. But I do way way more of it now, and I have enough space for some large scale projects.

Here is the only pic I could find of my kitchen and breakfast room. Kinda small, but kitchens were small in the 1930s

Love my kitchen. Went all out when we built. Pantry and bar too because that’s an extension of the kitchen right

Darla....awesome kitchen. My wife would have a cooking show if we had that!!!
Here's my 100 + year old kitchen. We plan on stepping up to commercial appliances soon.
