Keep a bottle of Glenlivet in the freezer and pour half a glass straight to sip on. Very good $38-$40 single malt bottle of scotch for around the house. Any other suggestions on around the house scotch? Not looking to break the bank.

Glenlivet, Dewars, or Johnnie Walker Black

The Dimple Pinch is surprisingly good for the price. Also, look for sales. Right now callandro's has the balvenie doublewood on sale for 50.

Balvanie. No where near a freezer though. But to each their own.

Thought about drinking it straight warm but started with it just on ice but found the ice started to dilute the taste so that's why I went to freezer with it.

Why do you put your scotch in the freezer? I'm not a huge scotch drinker, but I do dabble a bit. Is this common practice?

Good scotch can be "awakened" with a few drops of cold water.
But I don't have any objections to one or two pieces of ice with any but the rarest of scotch.

I don't know about it being common. I like it chilled but found even if using one or two cubes of ice that it would take away a bit. So I just put it in the freezer and when poured its pretty cold and slowly warms up.

Fr33 does keep some pretty sweet scotch at his place. Gonna hit him up for some tasting one night. I'll cook, he can supply the scotch.

I'll provide a backyard and a open fire. Cigars too if needed.

And I'll sit there and judge the scotch choice and cooking.
