As much as I know some of you have dined out, I can't imagine you haven't been in a situation where you didn't feel that a large portion of your meal should be taken care of by the restaurant.
In my life, I'd say out of 100's of dining experiences maybe 2 or 3 times did I feel that I truly didn't want to give the restaurant a dollar of my money because it wasn't worth my time or my money.
Neglecting confrontation and calling the CC company and disallowing the restaurant mgr/owner to rectify the situation is completely wrong though.
The OP has posted many reviews and to my knowledge has never posted one that was as terrible as this one. Kind of silly that people are pulling their pitchforks out over this.

I do Ray but that was 11 years ago, so alas I don't have an email for him.

I was trying to think of another time in my life where I walked out early - and I don't think there's been another one.

it is really starting to sound like the price point of rue 127 probably stretched your budget a little and your bar of expectations was unusually high as a result of this ...

i just pay and don't go back if it was that bad ... if it is a place that i enjoy regularly and have spent a decent amount of money at .. sure .. i will bring my concerns to the attention of management .. and if they comp me a beer .. that's cool with me ... i have eaten out a shite ton in my life and have just never ran across an experience where i felt like i just shouldn't have to pay ... maybe i am just too laid back for my own good ..

Are you saying I made the reservation with the belief that I'd be spending Chinese buffet kind of money?!

I actually agree with you here.

I hear ya.
I Went to the opening of Sporting News Grill. I knew better than to go, but did because others wanted to. I got my meal comped.
1. Gave away our 8-top table away on accident to a table that just walked in. We'd been there for an hour waiting.
2. Finally sat down. Took 20 minutes to get a drink. That was the last beer I got for over an hour. I drink fast.
3. Brought me out a breaded chicken breast that never hit the fryer. Completely raw. I ordered a chicken sandwich. They forgot the bread.
4. Finally got my sandwich about 1.5 hours from when I ordered it and over 2 hours from when we sat down.
6. Took almost 30 minutes to receive the check.
Understaffed and out of control. I was mad enough to walk out by the end of the meal and say F it. I'd spoken with the manager 2 or 3 times by that point. He was at a loss. I kept telling him I understand how it is on opening day and that I wasn't mad. Just wanted my food. After 3 hours at the table, and only 2 beers and a chicken sandwich...I was frustrated as hell. He comped me and my girlfriend's meal.

Sometimes it's not about whether or not you should pay for it, but it's the restaurant taking care of the situation to appease a customer that was truly wronged. It sounds like if the manager in this situation would've handled the situation more professionally they could've swept this situation under the rug.
I've had a couple of cases where I paid the bill, and then asked to speak to the manager and explain to them what a terrible experience it was. Actually happend to me at French Market Bistro last Valentine's day. I paid the bill, asked to speak to Brian(the GM) and told him how shitty everything was. He offered a gift cert, but I declined and just told him I thought he should know. His place is usually more consistent than that, and just because it's V-day doesn't give the server the right to act like somebody peed in her cheerios. At least he attempted to rectify the situation and give them another chance.

yeah, that place is STILL a freaking train wreck .. we will go watch a game there and have a few beers sometimes and it is almost always empty .. i don't know how it is still open .. but i remember that first month and your experience there does ring a bell for sure ... i like the concept .. lots of TVs .. good brand name .. in a holiday inn .. and then .. POOF .. that is where it ends .. food is horrible .. service is terrible ..

you see .. to me this is the way to handle it .. go ahead and pay the bill in full .. then, if you are dissatisfied, talk to the manager .. at that point, if he wants to offer you a gift certificate or some other form of compensation, everything's on the up and up on both sides of the transaction .. the manager knows at that point that you are not just trying to get one over on him for a cheap/free meal and you know that his offer of compensation after he has been paid in full is completely genuine ..

But LA Lady, you eat a couple of pieces of say bread pudding and stumble on a few pubes that were tossed in the mix. You're paying for that? I mean you took bites and all. This isn't what I experienced at pinettas but I'm just curious how far you'll take your if you bite it, you pay for it rule.
Finding something WRONG with the way your food was made is much different than not liking it when made the right way. I wouldn't say pubes in my food is "the right way"
I've seen many people order something and just dislike it and want to exchange it for something else. It's not like their uneaten food is going back to be served; it's getting thrown away. It's not fair just because they don't like something when made correctly to not have to pay for it.
Obviously something seriously wrong with your food should be comped.

And I'm sure the Brock Landers' family now has their picture on the wall(and it's not on the celebrity wall).

Well, that'll at least add some spice to the stupid fleur de lis wallpaper and framed Saints crap in there!
