It was $1.49 for like the last 2 weeks, now it's .99.
I have about 30lbs of frozen chicken in the freezer now.

are they hard as a rock like normal?
only place i get avacodos and cilantro are mexican markets.
I saw cilantro for 1.89 per bunch at the regular store the other day! At Ideal it is usually 2 bunches for a dollar sometimes 3 bunches for a dollar.

Rouses on clearview didn't have avocados but they had these weird lemons and limes

quote:no they arent.... the fruit produces ethylene gas which ripens the fruit. The thought is that the paper bag creates a more ethylene environment. Does it, maybe... but there are plenty of home experiments that show that this doesn't work consistently. it isnt something that you can not prove "8 hours in a paper bag will ripen 100%". So it is an old wifes tale.
In this case, the old wives are right.
So like i said, and yall should just do this.... Go to your mexican market, they will have ripened avocados that are cheaper then your local market when you want guacamole. Why wait 2-3 days while your fruit is in a paper bag....

Whole Sirloin $2.99 a lb. FTW.
Cut the nicer pieces off you have healthier steaks (New Year, new you,), grind the rest for fresh ground meat (mix 50/50 w deer)

I will try and find one ripe avocado I can eat immediately, one almost ripe, and one that’s not ripe. That way as I’m eating the ripe one the others are getting to the perfect status.

Rouse's actually has pretty good sales this week. They really haven't in awhile.
Posted on 1/9/23 at 4:25 pm to LoneStar23
I went by today not expecting the sale to still be going but it was. Also surprised that there were some decent avocados available. I found 4 (4 is the limit) that I could make a quac with tonight if I wanted to. I’ll wait another day just to let them soften up a bit more but they really would be usable today. I was surprised. Might have to go back in tomorrow. Lemons and limes are also only 25 cents. This is going to be the cheapest quac I’ve ever made.

quote:I may be late to this thread with this info, but if you take a hard avocado, stick it in a bag with a banana, that shite will ripen really quick. No old wives tale here, just experience
