Looking for something "pedestrian" but good. Not pretentious. Not pricey. Just good food of any kind, except Chinese. I hate Chinese food.

Tupelo Honey is good for breakfast, but their coffee is shite.
High Five Coffee is pretty good coffee.
Wicked Weed and Sierra Nevada have good lunches.
The Biltmore has a decent little restaurant in the stables.
I've heard 12 bones is incredible.
I've also heard White Duck Taco Shop is good.

Wicked Weed

This was my favorite lunch when we went.

I found that even the nice restaurants we went to weren't all that uptight or fancy.

TH was fire for breakfast and the fried okra was the best I ever had

White Duck Taco is def. worth a lunch.

B Hall was pretty good and would only go if it wasnt a long wait. Sorry I am not waiting an hour for that food.

We went to place that had some of the best fried chicken but cannot find the name.

ate at two pizza places that both were meh

Farm Burger was pretty good. We didnt eat at the one DT since the wait was freaking ridiculous. We ended driving by a different location after a drive from BR Pwky. It was solid though

Curate is a tad upscale, but very good Spanish tapas.

I don't know. I know one year he was asking about shrimp beignets, but I don't think that's what he cooked.

When are you going to be in Asheville?

My wife and I will be there next week until after Labor Day. We would enjoy meeting at Hillman's for a beer and sandwich for lunch one day. (Hillman's - on Sweeten Creek Rd on the edge of Biltmore Village).

We will be there this Thursday to Sunday and then head off to Charlotte. Thanks for the invite, though.
