Repeat mistakes in your kitchen

There are some things that I guess I'll never learn. I'm always having to scrub the drip pan for my smoker because I neglect putting down a simple sheet of foil.
I also singe my eyelashes every time I open an oven door because I always seem to stick my face right there when it's opening.
After cooking with gas for decades, I frequently find myself leaving a stove burner on.
Anyone else want to admit you kitchen faux pas?

I also do the stick my face in a hot oven thing.
I also frequently forget to buy side items.
As in, I'll cook 2 chickens, a pound of sausage, and some burgers and realize I have no veggies or salad or anything.
Mrs. Breesus is never pleased when I forget everything but the entree

I'm not seeing a faux pas here.

I have to cook 2 omelettes every time because the first one is always a messy pile of shite. The dogs love omelette night though.

Trying to fry an egg with too hot and pan. Always a sticky mess and a busted yolk.

I guess we have different definitions of "mistake" in this case.
I finally remembered to always put foil over the heat deflector in the BGE... so much easier to clean.
Also took many repetitions to start always doing bacon in a foil-lined pan in the oven. It works so much better than a stovetop skillet and far less mess.
One mistake I made way too often was to leave the heat on too high when doing skillet lasagna, and burning the bottom layer. Never ruined the dish, but definitely didn't help anything and made cleaning a bitch.

When I have the bottom oven on warm to keep something warm in case someone wants seconds, I sometimes forget to turn it off and sometimes, I live the food in it overnight. It's usually some sort of bread. The top oven would turn off eventually on it's own.

Grabbing a hot handle with a wet rag. That heat sure does transfer fast through a wet rag.

I don't see an issue either. Reminds me of a story one of my Dad's friends told me. They were all at his place and grilling before a football game. Usually the wives were there as well, but they had gone on a trip together. The guy says he's going to go inside to fix the salad, like he usually does. 3 guys at the same time told him there ain't no women here, what are you fixing a salad for?

Make spaghetti and sides but forget to cook the pasta.
Slightly overcook waffles I intend to freeze for later reheating. (Aside: Still, so much better than any frozen supermarket waffle.)

Me? No.
My wife? She is not allowed to cook in the kitchen because she can't.
But she does pour her Purple Crystal Lite in a glass several times a day. This results in about 6 spills a day. On the counter, on the floor tile, on the drawer handles.
Zach goes through a bottle of 409 getting rid of the stains every week. She also spills her Purple Lite at the gym in the women's dressing room. The cleaning lady has often complained to me about this.
She is incapable of pouring liquid into a glass without spilling it. She even has adult versions of 'sippy cups' that are non spill. She spills them.
But then it's the same with popcorn. The dogs go into the pantry every day to eat all the popcorn Mommy has spilled on the floor while attempting to pour some into a bowl.
Is she spastic? Hmmmm, yeah, I'd say so.

It's happened twice now, but probably won't happen ever again if I have any brains, but I did an overnight smoke recently with a propane tank that I thought would get me through. It sure as hell ran out again and I had to chuck the two butts. I could have salvaged them had I been awake, but I was in the middle of my sleep and actually slept through my maverick's alarm.

I am completely foil retarded.
No matter the brand, the size, whatever. I cannot tear the foil perfectly along the cutter. It will always rip at some point.
Watching someone perfectly tear foil down the little cutter thing pisses me off so much.
This extends to cling wrap as well.

Oh yeah, you know those twist tops on Tony's and grated cheese cans? I try to close them the wrong way almost every time.

I can't consider that a repeat mistake. It was just one. You got married.
