It would be interesting to hear yours because you've spent countless hours in the kitchen and know your sheet. Unless you're inCapleble of mistakes.

I've done this with a hot pad I didn't realize had a wet spot. PAINFUL!

The wet or improperly folded towel is a bad one I make too often

Something that I see a lot and something i used to struggle with, being properly organized so that every move you make is done with maximum efficiency. Kitchen work is as hard as you make it

I was not born to bake. That's why when I try to do it I often screw up the all-purpose flour/self rising flour and baking soda/faking powder.

So you hang out with the maid at your wife's gym? Why do I believe this is made up?

I believe one day she will mistake the cast iron skillet for a weapon and crush your skull.

Same here.

I also repeatedly make the mistake of very briefly walking away from something I've put under the broiler to come back to it completely scorched.

I just thought of another...chicken stock boiling over as it comes to a boil. I'm guilty of that dozens of times.

Someone bought us a set of gloves with the silicone on the end. I have one of those small silicone ones that you just slip over your thumb and fingers, but I liked these because they were an actual glove/mitt, but with the silicone at the end. Didn't realize that it was super thin and basically worthless. The lining in the fingertip came loose, and I had a cast iron skillet in my hand that was full of cornbread, so kind of heavy. Burned the mess out of my hand. I nearly broke our ceramic cooktop when I laid it down quickly. One of them was broken all the way so I tossed it. Kept the other just to pull the lid off of the grill with. The handle on my Weber Kettle gets a little warm. I'll never grab something from the oven with it again though.

My wife always puts water in my cast irons while hot and then let's them "soak". All the seasoning gone every time

I often turn on the burner all the way to heat up a pot of cold beans quickly. I mean to come back in a few minutes and turn it down but too often I come back to scorched beans on the bottom.
A summer time one that got me this weekend was cooking without a shirt on. That casserole dish left quite a mark.

Just soaking in water shouldn't unseason them unless they are fairly new. And if they are submerged the water won't bother them - just don't let them sit with just a bit of water then they start to rust and that is how you lose your seasoning scrubbing the rust off.

I just pulled my 15 gallon cast iron pot out of the back of one of my warehouses and it had a wasp nest in it about as big as a five gallon bucket lid. I'll build a fire and toss it in.

And my mistake is I've tried to pick it up without letting it cool and like to had to visit the BR General Burn Unit.

I'll put a pan on the stove and then turn the wrong burner on.

Lost a good wooden spoon that way.

No. The cleaning lady at the gym, Miss Jackie, a large black lady whose nephew plays FB for LSU constantly complains that my wife spills her purple drink in the ladies room.

I tell Miss Jackie that I cannot go into the ladies room to clean it up but I have the same problem at home. BTW, this is Miss Jackie's nephew:

She says he's gonna be a LB for LSU.

I'll just say that a plastic cutting board puts off a distinct smell when it is sitting on a burner that's on. My problem is the knobs are reversed from front to back. I couldn't tell you which was which, but on one set the left is at the bottom and the right is at the top, and the other set is opposite. All the potatoes I cut up to boil and make mashed potatoes were sitting there in cold water while the board was melted to the stove.

Approxomately 2 days after reading the thread on messing up eggs in a too hot cast iron skillet, you guessed it, I did the same darned thing.

Impatient bacon cooker, just this morning I got tired of watching it, cranked it and over crisped

I've been baking it on a sheet pan lately to avoid
