After reviewing the dress code in question, I see absolutely no reason to apologize. I am sick and tired of businesses having 0 back bone. Stick to your guns.

I'm beginning to really think most small businesses survive and even thrive despite their ownership. Most small business owners don't seem to be very smart, which is maybe why they had enough balls to risk it and open their business in some cases.

A part of me dislikes dress codes. It is their establishment though. They should be able to serve who they want to serve.

I think it's stupid that wafb would even acknowledge the baton rouge sucks event on friday about going to mess the place up, let alone have a direct link to it

I don’t know about this place because I don’t live there. I will say that I appreciate restaurants with a dress code. Nothing worse than going to a nice place for a special occasion and being surrounded by people in shorts and blue jeans

Posting an apology is a far worse look than just ignoring the critics and sticking with the dress code.

Agree. Put up the dress code if you want and stick to it.

The people complaining on facebook are the people you dont want in the place anyway

The local sjw moms with 4 kids arent going to an over 21 club at night to drink and bowl. Dont let people that arent going to be your customers dictate your business practices

Why apologize? Normal people of all colors don’t want to spend their time with those who sag and can’t dress civilized in public.

This. The people that are offended by the dress code aren't your customers even without a dress code. It's the shame shite with Tiger land. The people who complain about Tiger Land having a dress code wouldn't go to Tiger Land even if there wasn't a dress code. They're not your customers, there aren't that many of them, just ignore them. Sadly, businesses don't understand social media and how it amplifies the voices of the loudest idiots among us to make them sound like the majority, so they bow to even the slightest bit of pressure.

I, of course, will make fun of them for caving by attending the BR Sux event since I'm friends with a bunch of those humorous d-bags. This whole thing didn't start with any of them really being offended. They were just laughing at Red Stick Social for coming across as ultra try-hard. Them apologizing only confirms that image.

The irony is that the people complaining about this were never going to go there.

Because they're in an unwinnable situation right now and you know who is heard louder.

Maybe so, but issuing an apology is essentially admitting they fricked up and put out a "racist" dress code when that's not true to anyone with common sense.

The people that either weren't going to go there in the first place, or would be kept out with the new dress code. Basically the clientele they were trying to avoid. So who cares?

Interesting idea in an odd location.

They aren’t really on the Government St corridor that is doing well

They are not really a part of the downtown scene

All the halfway houses and shelters in town are a stones throw away

They have a nice place in an area that almost guarantees a heavy African American clientele. That is cool. All money is green.

Build where they did. Accept the tax credit that I am sure they accepted. Great. Plan to cater to the clientele most likely to visit your establishment. That dress code read like people who were shocked that they have a non hipster clientele.

Quarters on Sherwood is a nice place. At night largely African American. They should maybe talk to them about how to manage a nice place that has such a clientele in BR.

Really confused who funded this shite show in the middle of ghetto. Did they not anticipate something like this would happen? Did they do absolutely zero research before sinking millions into this place? Money must be easy to come by now a days.

Because its the last portion along government st from downtown to lobdell that had little to no gentrification. It makes sense in the long run. Unfortunately you are going to run into issues like this when you are the the first one to make the move

I did not have a problem with a dress code. The Red Hen or whatever it is called that banned Press Sec Sarah Sanders said they can pick who they let in so why can't Red Stick Social?
