We will be staying downtown, so I would like some dining recommendations in the downtown area. One night will be at Grand Ole Opry, dinner nearby? Another evening at Ryman, dinner?

Dining budget is not a factor but want places allowing casual dress. No restrictions or ethnic preferences. Would like to get in a meat and 2 (or 3) meal for lunch or dinner. Thanks.

If you are ok going to east Nashville check out lockeland table. Great happy hour. 5 points pizza is solid too
5th and Taylor is another one of my favorites (in germantown near bearded iris if you like beer)

If you like a good dry rub rack of ribs, Peg Leg Porker is the go to. Real good pulled pork and baked beans too. Casual dress, no reservation, no long wait.

Oof

I’ve had great meals there. Why did they fail?

State Health Inspectors visited the 5th & Taylor restaurant in Germantown Thursday evening for nearly two hours, during which time they embargoed 20 pounds of food. The restaurant scored a 59 on its first inspection in fourteen months. Violations include chicken only cooked to 117 F, employees handling ready-to-eat foods with their bare hands, no paper towels or soap at sinks, water dripping from the ceiling into a container of shredded cheese, quail being held at only half the proper temperature, and beef stored at 48 degrees.

if out at the opry on Friday, inside the hotel is a really good steak house called Old Hickory

downtown at the Ryman, few blocks away is The Southern is good to OK

you can see Margaritaville's from the Ryman, on the back side...it's fun and has good bar food.I think Cafe Lula at the Ryman is still closed

What I was coming in to recommend. Also a good place in the gulch that was more fancy and had some other less common meats, the name of which I can’t remember. Bruco would know. The venison or moose or whatever one of us got was great.

Jacks BBQ is a must stop ... Pick 3, paired with a shiner bock can't be beat

Jack's is fine, but the best BBQ in Nashville is Edley's followed by Martin's

Pharmacy burgers aren’t bad. Surprisingly, Redheaded stranger has a great burger too.
