Head up to D.C. next week for a few days what are some good spots for lunch and dinner.
ETA:
Thank you all for your recommendations. Used Open Table to make reservations anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours prior to arriving.
Filomena in Georgetown
Sandi Ravioli - app - Great
Pollo all a Parmigiana
Gnocchi della Mamma
Fettuccine all a Carbonara
New York Strip - A little over
Tira mi su
Chocolate truffle cake - too rich for my tastes
The Pesto/Olive oil for bread dipping was wonderful
We had a 2:00 reservation and got there about 1:40 and were seated immediately. Lots of other good looking dishes on the menu - would definitely go back.
Founding Farmers
Spicy corn and crab dip - Huge lump crab meat
Hamburger
Ham, apple and pea mac n cheese
Pork chop - a little too salty for me
Chicken noodle soup
Spinach bacon blue salad
Red velvet cake - a bit dry but the I liked the ice cream
We had a 1:15 reservation but didn't get seated until about 1:35. The crab and corn dip was the best part of the meal. Would try other places before going back.
The Capital Grille
Cup of corn soup and cup of french onion
Roasted Chicken
Bone in aged NY Strip
Caesar salad with steak (8 oz fillet)
Signature hamburger
We had a 1:15 reservation that we made 30 minutes prior. Arrived 5 minutes early and seated immediately Everything was great. If you go, Manuel Portocarrero will take excellent care of you.
Would go back but probably for dinner next time.
Old Ebbitt Grill
Hummus Trio
Meatloaf - looked like a fillet
Brick Chicken
French Dip
Chicken Fettuccine - subbed the chicken for the shrimp
We had a 1:15 reservation and where seated just about 1:15. Would go back again.
Overall the F&DB gave us excellent recommendations. Again, Thank You.

We were there earlier this week and ate at a pretty good place called Founding Farmers. There's also a good pizza place called District Pi that was pretty good. Food there is expensive, though.

Went to DC a couple months ago... We did Old Ebbitt for lunch which was good. Blue Duck Tavern for a nicer dinner, Founding Farmers for lunch which was one of my favorite places, we did We The Pizza for a casual lunch and it was real good as well.

Located 3 blocks from U Street/African-Amer Civil War Memorial/Cardozo metro station (13th st & U st exit)
Former Top Chef chef Mike Isabella's restaurant. Mediterranean food. Really excellent.

Another vouch for Founding Farmers. Be sure to make reservations. Might as well hit up Old Ebbet's Grill also.

We stumbled into Ambar while walking around D.C. and loved everything about it. Small plates and great cocktails. Someone sent us down the street to another place I think was Roses but it was an hour wait with a line down the block at 4:30.

I went to clydes and old ebbitts and enjoyed them both. Old ebbitts is more upscale.
For a streakhouse, although it's a chain, del frisco's is my favorite. Mastros is also very good.

Jack Rose Dining Saloon is the best whiskey bar i've been to. They also have a great venison steak. It was one of the better steaks I've had in the last 5 years
