Talking about rice dressing here in Acadiana with a co-worker and he’s from Ville Platte. He said his mom would crack a raw egg in the dressing while mixing in the rice. Anyone ever heard of this?

I haven’t heard of it. Did he say what it added to the dish?

Egg plant is awesome in rice dressing. It's keeps it moist. I've never heard of anyone putting a raw egg in it. Maybe he is messing with you.

Born and raised in da platte and I’ve never heard of or seen this done. Thankfully.

I've heard of putting leftover rice in scrambled eggs, but not in dressing. Makes me think of fried rice. Might be good.

One of the best things I’ve ever eaten was Japanese sticky rice mixed with egg yolk, chili oil and chives. Traditional Japanese eat sticky rice raw egg and furikake.

I like eggs in fried rice, not seen in rice dressing. However, I see most cooks put eggs in bread based stuffings/dressings.
