Out with the Black Eyed Pea and in with Raising Canes on Mason Rd. just south of I-10. Nice upgrade IMO.

They're everywhere. You're not special.

I think this is the first one in Katy special or not.

They are on an expansion frenzy thanks to a fresh capital investment. They are opening in all the Texas burbs like all good vanilla white chains. And they weren't very good before becoming a chain.

They're awash in cash after making their chicken tenders about one ounce each.

They are opening a new one next week in Metarie. I saw that they are doing that promotion where the first 20 people through the door get free chicken for a year. Can't wait to see what a shite show it turns into.

That is some plain tasting food. It's amazing that it got this popular.

I think Canes is a business. They're trying to make money so if there's profit to be made in "TX burbs" then they're duty bound to set-up shop there.
As for your "vanilla white chains" thing you apparently are unaware of the demographics of this area.
For my part, I've eaten at Canes about a dozen times at approx 6 different restaurants. Good place to get one's fried chicken fix. Not as good as Popeyes but better than CFA and as noted in the OP it's an upgrade from Black-Eyed Pea.

CFA is no fine dining establishment, but it's the best fast food restaurant bar none. I think 9 out of 10 people would prefer CFA over Cane's.

These people don't think like that. Makes a lot of people mad because a local BR guy has opened a business that is just printing money. So they have to bash him.
I don't eat Canes but I'm always glad to see a local success story. My kid eats it and loves it and Chick Fil A so I'm paying for it.

There's a CFA less than a 1/4 mile west on the opposite side of Mason Rd than the Canes site. So great - competition is better for all - even in the "vanilla white burbs."

Didn't they have a Black Eyed Pea out around Cortana at one point??

Yes and if I remember correctly the franchise was owned by TJ Moran.
Had a Luthers BBQ also that was owned by Edwin Edwards.
