I decided to sit down and actually input everything in my cellar (closet) since I'm bored right now.

Just curious if anyone else does this to keep track of what they have and the age of the beers.

Any beer that is aging is in my wine fridge. Other than that, I don’t inventory wine or beer.

I wish I had enough that required me to truly “inventory” it. I only have a dozen or so bottles of mostly stouts and some sours. I actually opened one last night in the FBD thread. It was a Westbrook Joie which is a Saison/Farmhouse aged in sauternes casks. Bottled in Nov., 2016

I tried, unsuccessfully to do it. We have an entire corner of our basement overfilled with beer right now. We trimmed down on stouts by trading for whiskey. But we have so much it's kind of getting out of hand.

It doesn't help that the GF and I both cut back on our drinking. We cut way back on the amount of hops we get and are pretty much out on adjunct stouts altogether. Our sour collection keeps growing though.

I just did since I was bored, not as bad as I thought. 33 beers total between sours and stouts with the oldest being a 2011 sour

No wine fridge, I do have a beer fridge but for some reason, I feel better about it being in the closet since I know the house does not go above 73 at any point. Even if the AC cuts out the generator is going to run the AC to keep the house cool.
Plus the beer fridge is outside so constant opening and shutting vs being in a closet with no direct sunlight.

I just took inventory and realoaded today. That bud light just seems to evaporate in my back porch fridge.

At one point I inventoried everything on cellarhq, but then I never kept it updated.

Nope, I got over storing beer. I have about a dozen bottles in the fridge that I'm waiting to share with one person specifically this month. I have maybe a dozen bottles that I'm "saving," which means I'll drink in the next few months. One bottle that I'm going to sit on for a few more years.

Other than that? I buy it, I drink it.

I just have trouble saving beer, mostly because it’s hard for me to spend money on other beer when I know I have kickass beer at the house that’s calling my name.

I think my oldest beer is also a sour. I have some 2014 crooked stave I’m holding onto. I would like to wait until next year to open it

I have a few sours like that, either I want to share them with a small group of friends or special occasions. The stouts, I just can't drink by myself so I haven't opened many by myself. I bring them to shares and sometimes they get drunk, other times I leave with them still in tow.

Mines in the kitchen. Then cases in the upstairs guest closet.

All brown stuff pretty much. Only have 6 right now. I drank some the last few weeks. Used to be half Wine, half beer.

Tried through several methods. Spend more time finding spots to store than drinking now.

I just like looking through and saying "oh! I forgot about this one." I think my oldest may be either a Pumpkinator or a Legion BA from Community.

I don’t inventory, but I know what I have, because I sift through them every time I share with people. My stash had gotten out of hand, but I’ve been in purge mode for awhile. I hope to get to a point where I can fit it all in one big wine cellar and keep it that way. I just haven’t been drinking enough lately (at least not from the stash).
