Bastards at Walmart did not give me the full discount they promised and they charged me for shipping so my new order is $85.00 higher than my initial order when it should actually be a little lower with the new items I added to the order.

After 45 minutes of explaining that "MULTIPLE ITEMS" meant the discount and shipping would apply to the ENTIRE order and not just the bike, they finally relented.

So we are back at square 1. 7-10 days until the bike arrives for an order placed on Feb 21.

12 pounds in 1 week

I bought some ketosis test strips just for the ease of mind that I'm in ketosis. Was a little purple, between the lightest purple and medium. As long as it's purple that's fine right?

Most of here will recommend Atkins. I've started it and lost 12 pounds in a week. Started at 363, now 351. If I was you, I'd go buy (or pirate if you wish) Dr. Atkin's New Diet Revolution, the book. Chapter 10 begins induction phase, but I'd read before that to make sure the diet is right for you.
In the induction phase, you can only eat 20g of carbs per day (easy for me, hard for some carboholics). Eat lean red meat and fish, 1 cup of salad with lunch and dinner, and eat some non-carb snacks for snacks between meals. Snacks like non-flavored pig skins (Chicharrones), string cheese, or any kind of cheese without carbs really. Take multivitamins and a probably a fiber supplement. Come up with your own meals, make your own diet up but stick to 20g of carbs per day. Personally, the george foreman grill is now my best friend. Cooking and cleaning are quick, simple, delicious, and easy.

There's no shame in this thread, nobody will make fun of you for your size. This place is solely for the betterment of yourself. If you are tired of being overweight, then this is a great place to go and get started. Good luck!

I'm their bitch for the time it has taken, but I now get a free bike helmet, air pump and comfy gloves so who is the real bitch?

Per Fed Ex the bike should arrive Wednesday so the new order should get here before the original order was scheduled to arrive on the 12th.

Congratz to all who continue to hammer away at the scale.

Fantastic freaking job Hulk. Don't expect 12 every week though. Got to keep realistic. Although just a bang up arse kicking great 1st week.

I was hoping to hit 200 today for my birthday, but I will settle for birthday week.

Next week will be my 1 year birthday of my diet. You know you have been on a diet forever if said diet can actually have a birthday.

Thanks myth! I can feel it already. I can feel it in my clothes for sure. I've motivated my mom and one of my friends to both start on Atkins and lose weight. My mom needs to especially, my friend is only maybe 20 pounds overweight. But they see how badly I want this and how well it's working for me and it's inspired them. Such a great feeling.

And happy birthday!

After reading all 92 pages (not really), you guys have convinced me to get off my fat arse.

I have bounced around between 230-255 for years, getting as low as 205 once. I just lose focus along the way and put it back on.

Unfortunately, I have recently busted through my previous ceiling and am currently around 265 (holy crap, I'm a fatass).

I'm trying to decide whether to do Atkins, Body for Life, or Weight Watchers. I have had success with all 3 in the past, with the most success from Body for Life. However, if I combine Body 4 Life workouts with Atkins or WW diets, I'm sure they will work just as well.

I like the idea of checking in here every few days for some accountability.

Godfather, if I haven't checked in for a few days and you see me on the Movie board, kick my arse. Thanks.

I love Atkins. I would think if you combined Atkins with a serious workout routine you'd shed weight like crazy.

just make sure if you stay on it for a long time that you get a physical done to check your bloodwork ... the diet is uber high in sodium if you are not careful what you eat and the cholesterol is pretty bad too ... just make sure your body is doing fine with it ... any diet that includes steak, bacon, cheese, eggs, etc. for a guy sounds too good to be true ... and you know what the rest of that saying is ... good luck with it .. but do get your blood checked in a few months ...

I joined Weight Watchers in May of last year. Wish I would have done it 5 years ago. I could never do Atkins, I love carbs!

With WW there is nothing off limits as long as you plan for it and I can live with a diet like that for a long time.

Find what works for you and just do it!

False.

I am under 1500mgs of sodium and cholesterol from eggs is not harmful. Science has proven the fears of the past over eggs was unfounded.

Any diet can be high in sodium if you don't watch what you eat.

I would imagine the average Atkins diet is much lower sodium intake than what we were all eating before simply because all of the food other than cheese is fresh.

THANK YOU

I've told so many people this this past week. I've only increased my protein intake by eating 2 eggs every morning and cheese for snacks.. Otherwise I'm not eating any extra meats. It's not like I'm eating mountains of meat that would make it SO unhealthy. A hamburger patty or a pork chop or a steak or something along those lines, most people eat that with a meal anyway right? Instead of mashed potatoes or fries or mac n cheese I eat a salad. What's so damned unhealthy about that? I proved that to all of my family this weekend and they are believers now.

My ultimate argument for stubborn folks is that it can't be worse than what I was eating before, all the takeout. Fried chicken, fast food hamburgers, taco bell, etc
