made myself some sweet potato hash browns this morning .. forgot how good those things were ... i think i prefer them over standard hash browns .. did scrambled egg whites with a couple of tablespoons of a really good, low sodium salsa i found at whole foods ... i used to not be a big breakfast eater, but over the last three weeks i have been eating it and feel a lot better throughout the day !! good nutrition numbers in the meal too ..

I am gonna give this a shot. Found a recipe that includes 2tbs of olive oil, 1/2 c. onions, clove of garlic and three medium sweet potatoes. Looks easy. Thanks!

Down again. I had gained 2 pounds late last week, but lost that plus one more over the weekend.

This thread really needs a sticky

Have any of you come up with a minimum water intake per day?

I can get by without drinking much of anything,so I have to force water on myself.

I've decided upon 3 Nalgene's per day (96oz.)

i subscribe to the idea that you shouldn't have to force yourself to drink water. your body should tell you when its thirsty..and despite popular opinion, soft drinks, beer, milk, coffee, etc. DO count towards daily water intake..its not like those beverages have some magical substance in them that isn't water.

you'll get fluids even from meat (which is > 50% water) and certainly from salads since lettuce is like what..90% water?

it doesn't hurt to keep water on hand to stay hydrated but i think forcing too much water on yourself is counterproductive.

by too much water i mean you have to get up from your desk 15x a day to go pee. that's hard on your kidneys and completely unecessary. i used to do that myself.

Had a bit of a meltdown yesterday and ate 3 portions of my red beans and sausage.

Think I need to take that off the menu. It tastes too damn good and my willpower isn't strong enough to have something that actually tastes great in the fridge.

I guess it will be back to baked chicken and spinach.

a year from now you'll be in low 200s and giving advice to the newbies
