fyi sears will exchange levi's jeans even without a reciept...i went from 36 to 38 to 40 to 38 to 36 to 34 to now 33..and i just swapped them each time i needed to go up or down a size its kinda like the miracle of the fish and bread.

unethical? maybe. but i didn't force them to take them back..just handed them to the woman and told her they were the wrong size and could i swap them.

...sure saved $$$ on buying new jeans.

Almost back to Christmas eve weight.

Cad

I agree that going out can be dangerous but never allowing yourself a break is what causes most people to quit.

And I highly doubt smoked meat with half a cup of potato salad and half a cup of beans is really that insanely high in calories. Especially since I split it.

Pretty much every site I used to estimate the meal had it right at about 1000 calories.

I didn't go out to eat the first 3 weeks I was losing weight.

Now I eat out as much as I would like, but I do my homework before leaving for the restaurant by checking the nutritional information online and deciding ahead of time what I will order.

Of course, I have go-to's at certain restaurants that don't require any homework.

That said, there are many restaurants that don't provide nutritional information so you just have to guesstimate. Lots of restaurants will cook and serve your food as requested such as: sauce on the side, no butter, etc.

I don't generally ask for modifications though. Just not in my nature.I just eat half of what I order and take the other half home or even split an entree with someone.

Portion control has been a big factor in my weight loss journey.

i do agree with this. you have to do something that you can stick with at least a year. too many people do exercise or dieting at such an extreme level they can only sustain it for a few weeks and then quit.

its good to have a release valve..my secret shame is a 3-egg wafflehouse omelet and large bacon on the side. that shite is tasty.

What is the longest anyone here has gone without eating? Yes, I know this is about the worst way to go about dieting, but I am interested to know.

I ate like a pig over the holidays and then again on the 1st and second, so I fasted on Monday.

I was so full from the mountain of peas and rice with sausage that I ate, that I actually wasn't hungry on Monday. Then on Tuesday I also wasn't hungry so I kept going.

Kept it up almost until 72 hours. Not as a diet, but just to see how long I could go. I stopped when I read that after about 48 to 72 hours some people can pass out and I didn't want to pass out while driving so I broke the fast.

Would have been interested to see how far I could go. The only time I was super hungry was I woke up late Tuesday night with my belly yelling at me but when I woke up Wednesday, I wasn't hungry.

Once again, I am not endorsing this as a diet. I know it is the absolute worst way to go about it.

Just interested to see how long some people have fasted.

323 start/219.6 current/185 goal

Having a tough time keeping with my normal routine.

34 pounds left to go is nothing. Gotta keep telling myself 34 is nothing compared to 100.

Where is everyone?

This has been a terrible week for me. Cake TWICE at the office this week, and just haven't gotten in to a routine yet. Only good thing is I've been waking up early to go run 3 days a week. I have to learn the word "no" when people offer me something I know I shouldn't have- like cake.

I'm up 1lb this week, but i'm ready to get on the horse this week

I'm back to early holidays weight. Pants are looser and I'm feeling good. No cocktails for awhile. I just finished a two hour walk around the neighborhood. Cold as he'll out there but I've worked up a sweat.

24 hours short of 1 week and have dropped exactly 8 pounds. Just counting calories. Even had 5 crown and waters last night watching the Saints game. Gonna start adding exercise into the mix this coming week.

Portion contol is beyond a "big factor", it is THE key to losing weight. When your stomach shrinks, you'll avoid buffets and get 2 meals out of a typical restaurant entree. This eating style change is easy and quick to adapt to.

Probably not if you behave the rest of the day. Try to leave some of the fries uneaten.

No idea about smoothie. You need to check the calorie count and the carb count.

Best way to lose weight it low carb and portion control with calories between 1200 and 1500.

With some walking or other exercise.

You can get the smoothies with equal or splenda instead of the sugar (turbinado) and that saves 100-200 calories, depending on the drink.

ETA: Angel Food with Blueberries FTW
