hey all; well not a great weekend to be sure.

my ex f****d up by calling late fri and saying she wasn't going to take the kids after all. that screwed up all my plans so i had to redo everything.

199 on sunday morning after i spent the day staruday running around with the kids and cooking a nice dinner (since they were sad about their mom not getting them) and i made the the most delicious chicken/rice casserole ever. what the crap was i thinking?? i dont know how i thought i could eat some gray slices of lunchmeat and cheese while the kids were dining on jasmine rice and grilled chicken delight.

anyway, i rode 100 miles yesterday and started hurting around mile 50..all i had to eat was my fellow cyclist's cliff bars & shot bloks..and those things are LOADED with carbs. ..but i had to get home so whta could i do? again, lack of planning on my part.

so i got home and had a HUGE plate of leftover chicken & rice...198 today. boy do i know how to screw up a good week of dieting or what?

back to basics today. hopefully this week i will fare better.

I worked out mon-thursday last week, had plans friday night, and had to finish moving all of my big stuff from my apartment Saturday and Sunday, so I've gotten plenty of workout time in lol. Going to do an upper body workout tonight.

Started my workout and diet yesterday. I have a long way to get to the weight I want to, and I hope that this thread will encourage me to stick to the plan. Has anyone tried any of the couch to 5K plans and what would you change in the program?
TIA

There are some of us here that have/had plenty to lose too, you're in good company

I tried c25k, it's a great program. I have a bum knee so I had to stop running.

Welcome cm.

C2-5k has its good and bad. Following the schedule is the key but its tedious. i guess depends on your focus. if weight loss is your goal concentrate on your weight (see CAD, Myth and Hlogan above). If accomplishing a 5k is your goal, do the c2-5k plan. when you try do both you may end up doing neither.

day 10/7

CADfast led to 2.5 drop and wasn't that difficult to endure thanks to 120 oz of h2o throughout the day. I'm guessing there would have been some loss of fluid without the fast anyway, but as he said you can almost feel the weght coming off the last 6 hrs. This will now be my go to nonplateau buster.

I am pissed this morning. 1400 calories yesterday and I gained a damn pound.

Not what I need a day before the big weigh-in.

I just ate breakfast but I think I might do a Cadfast from now until breakfast tomorrow.

I need to get some excess water out. Something I ate yesterday had a larger than normal sodium load.

Glad to hear the fast worked for you. I'm in the middle of one now. Started at 7pm last night. I will get out of class tonight around 7:30 so I will eat after that. I hope to have similar results!

The reason I decided to commit to a fast is because the scale has been driving me nuts the last few days. I have literally dropped .6 then added .6 then dropped .6 then added .6. It's so annoying. I'm tryig to break 122 so I can say ive hit the 25lb loss mark. I think the scale knows this bc it won't go lower than 122.2 stupid thing! /rant

What's the details on this juice fast? How much, what kinds?

I mainly drink a meangreen from the movie fat sick and nearly dead.

Kale, Cucumbers, Celery, Green Apples, Lemon, Lime and Ginger. I also add an onion, carrot and tomato. I drink about 64 oz per day along with 64 oz of water.

I'm MAD!

3 days in a row I've gained weight on 1400 to 1500 calories.

From 167.6 to 169.1.

That is going to blow my office weigh-in to hell this morning.

day 11-8 feeling great.

down another .5. started stretching and pushups again.

Myth, there's got to be some sodium bombs hidden in there somewhere. also this is the range that gave you fits before you hit your low last time isn't it? could be your mason-dixon line.

I've hit 163.5 as my low. I've been 165 a few times.

As for sodium, I'm not eating anything that I don't normally eat. I read all labels and my sodium for the last 3 days has been about 1800 to 1900.

Frustrating!

must..stay..patient..
Oh yeah and I need to tell myself.. must.. not.. drink.. alcohol

After the superbowl, football season will officially be over (obviously) and I'm going to swear off of alcohol as long as I can. It seems to be the one thing I can't say no to as far as cheats are concerned. In my head, I think "oh you're young, gotta do it while you can", but I know I need to stay strict with my diet.

hulk you may be retaining some fluid in your muscles from working out, keep going and you will work through it. Yes NO alcohol, or, maybe just a few Mich Ultras

225/195.5/185

Just finifhed my second fast. Noon Mon to noon Tues. Lost 2 lbs. I ate kinda light Mon and Tues after the fast. Kept up my cardio workouts both days. Great start to the week!I'm due for a no cheat weekend and must keep the workouts going. I really feel good after the fasts and hopefully I broke my 198ish plateau.

Thanks for the input Benchwarmer and Hulkklogan. At this time I have not started the running program. I am lifting a little right now and will ease into the running in another week. The change in diet seems to be working. I imagine 5 lbs in this short amount of time is mostly water...
