For my diet, I've been "low" carb and not full blown atkins. This allows me to eat 50ish grams of carbs a few days a week and I think it helps to avoid such a major shift in weight like you described. For example... after hitting a low of 130 a few weeks ago I accidentally spent a whole week back home awaiting the birth of my nephew. I literally ate WHATEVER I wanted...pizza, fast food, calzone from rotolos, etc. I only gained 4 pounds that week and it was gone with 2 days of diet/exercise...So my theory is that keeping a low number of carbs mixed in your diet may make the weightloss process longer but helps to be able to keep it off in the end.
Just my opinion

I can see how people that only have to lose 20 to 30 pounds could hate Atkins. Imagine losing 30 pounds and then putting half of it back on the week you leave.

I agree with this. This is one of the reasons Atkins didn't want people just staying in induction the whole time they're on his diet. That's why I plan on slowly reintroducing carbs to my diet once I reach my goal, but never really going back to as much as I was

I completely agree with this. I try to stay between 50 and 100 carbs a day. That's low carb enough for me

50 and 100 carbs a day
I continue to disagree with you Hulk. Pretty much everything I have read states you should stay in induction at least until you are much closer to your goal.
If you are in ketosis, I imagine you will have the same problem with water weight regardless of the number of carbs you eat. If you aren't in ketosis then you aren't actually doing Atkins, you are doing Sugar Busters.
But whatever works for each person is what is best.

All I gotta say is Induction =/= Atkins. Atkins was designed as a whole system of learning how foods affect your body. Whatever works though. I can't say much, I'm not following Atkins properly either.

Right
I have no desire to do atkins

As long as you stick to it, any diet can work if there is a calorie deficit.

The sodium alone will probably cause a spike up for a day or two.
The old Chinese buffet used to be one of my regular unhealthy meals. I'm shocked I've actually only had the buffet twice in the last 2 years. Once in April 2010 and then again just a little over a month ago.

Dang Walmart seems to be battling price controls on almost everything I purchase. No preformed burgers for two weeks, no sriracha for 5 freaking weeks. Out of shredded cabbage. Bastards made me change up my menu.
Jenni-O Turkey burgers. Those things are actually pretty good.
Another pound down so 5 from my low.

Be careful this weekend. The game could cause plenty of stress so try to keep the stress eating to a minimum.
Damn, that butterball turkey bacon isn't as terrible as I thought it would be.
In fact it tastes a little too good and I'm already way over my portion limit.

Turkey products are always good imo. Just be careful, you need a high fat intake on atkins and those turkey products are very lean. It may make you lose faster if you eat leaner though.. never though of it that way.

I'm still eating plenty of mayo, olive oil and cheese so my fat to carb ratio should be high enough.
This is just a one week thing because they were out of the pre-formed burgers I like to buy and I am too lazy to buy the meat and make them myself.
