Unless they had 160 more to lose.
ARE YOU HIDING SOMETHING MYTH?!?!

Oh and when one has spent over 20 years losing weight and gaining it back, it is best to be vigilant to make sure that never happens again.

That's a lot of fluctuation for someone at your weight...

Atkins really must be an insane diuretic. I also do a MUCH better job with low sodium on Atkins and once I start hitting carbs I need more sodium for flavor and I use more processed food.
So the combination of losing the natural diuretic plus higher sodium sends my weight through the roof.
Heck, I am up 10 pounds since I hit my low of 163 even though I have been around 1500 calories every day except one day at 3,000.
Even the 3,000 day isn't enough to gain a single pound so all of that weight gain is water.
I just want to get low enough so that when I gain all the damn water weight back, I am around 165 not 179.
And as I said, having gained weight back about 300 times, it is better that I be more than a little vigilant.

Do you not remember the first couple of weeks? I do
Running to the bathroom 5-6 times a day, all of that water loss.

The merciless climb upwards finally stopped and dropped a bit.
323/171.1/165
I started Atkins again, but it won't kick in until Monday because I will be attending a Saints pizza party Sunday.

i also have a problem here. i agree; when i've been out of town and eating out, the next 2 days i'm peeing something awful, but i like the way my skin and body looks after the 2-days-of-water-loss being back on atkins.
this is why i dont know that i could adopt a more 'carb heavy' lifestyle. i may splurge eat pasta or jambalaya or eat a sandwich, but that will definitely not be part of a long term eating pattern for me.
i've been able to maintain fitness and endurance for racing on atkins even though i'm having a war with the pro-carb racing snobs on another forum over it so i dont really see a reason to ever force-feed myself a gigantic plate of pasta before i race.
anyway, i digress but the point is i like the way i look in the mirror after a couple of days of the atkins 'diuretic effect' and i don't like the way i look after a weekend of eating out and driving where i look all bloated.
i dont feel i'm being deprived, i'll still eat what i want..occasionally..but never ever again will i feel the need to fill up on pop-tarts or ding-dongs or shite like that. if i'm going to cheat, its going to be eating johnnys pizza or a muff from central or something thats WORTH IT

Been checking this thread every now and then for a while now, just haven't posted until now.
Started dieting and working out in the middle of June. My original goal was 170, but when I reached that I moved it to 160 and I have since moved it down further to 150 (can't seem to get rid of this layer of flab on my lower abdominals).

I'm new to this whole concept but apparently fat deposition from high blood sugar levels mysteriously seems to invariably wind up around the waist line

I think I know how this loss happened, because otherwise it shouldn't have. I blew my diet up big time this weekend.
Damn you Juan's Flying Burritos!! I had no idea what you meant by flying burritos, but I do now

250 on the dot this morning
Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have a big enough drop to never be above or at 250 again
Gonna be extra strict this week and try to get some HIIT in every day

Good luck this week everyone! Stay strong in anticipation of one greattt weekend!!!
Power man... I can relate to not wanting to be over a certain weight ever again. I'm hoping to never be over 130 again. I don't ever want to have to diet for months again. (but at least I know I can)
Oh. And happy Halloween!!!
