Welcome Sonus.

Just back from BR. Briught daughter to TJ Ribs but I only ate 1/2 a rack. she wanted dessert. They came out with this alleged pie. a mountain of ice cream and whipped cream drizzled with choc syrup all on an oreo crust. that was a damn strong dessert.

1 pound away from goal!

However, I will probably go another two or three past goal in preparation for my eat-a-thon on my cruise. Hopefully it won't be bad because all our activities are considered strenuous. Ought to burn off most of what we eat.

Pretty sure I'm in ketosis again. I went through the horrible lack of blood sugar last night.. that's rough. But I feel okay this morning so my body must have made the switch.

A couple of days into the vacation and so far I've lost a little weight. I was 214 when I left Sunday morning and weighed in at 213.4 this morning.

I've been able to eat moderately good and have done 45 hard minutes on the elyptical each morning. So far, so good.

Of course, I know we have a few tempting meals ahead and at some point, someone will bring in a couple of dozen donuts (hell, it may be me).

2 more pounds and I'll be right where I was.

Energy is definitely back.. I looked around my apartment and realized how dirty it was Cleaned the entire thing. I'm definitely better off on a low carb diet.

I really just wanted to try something different to see how I fared, I wanted to have more selection.. but in the end it didn't work out.

PLus...the reason you stalled on atkins was you started making all those wonderful fancy atkins meals.

Go by the KISS principle.

KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID.

I'm in serious peril this weekend. I've got a birthday party on Friday night and a lunch at Casa Garcia.

I am actually going to try to behave at both. No chips or dip.

I need to learn some self-control over those damn chips. 17 months into the diet you would think I would have gained a modicum of willpower.

Step dad - 170
Me - 170.2

The race to 165 continues.

One time (and ONLY one time) have I ever exercised self control at a Mexican restaurant. I had just started WW about 5 years ago, and I filled up my little bowl about half full with salsa, and once it was gone, I ate no more chips. Looking back, it was a major victory. I wish I still had that will power.

Very early in the diet I went to Superior and had like 3 chips total. Since then I eat more than half the chips and all the bean dip at Casa Garcia. The salty snack is my nemesis.

Myth,
Your step-dad obviously doesn't know what he's up against. Does he realize he is competing to lose 5 lbs against a dude that lost 150? He doesn't stand a chance.

By the way, as expected the donuts made it into the condo today....2 dozen, including sour cream donuts which are my favorites. Prayers requested.

ETA: Myth, I just shared your before/after pics with my wife and her dad and told them what an inspiration you are for me and others in this thread. Her dad was wearing jorts at the time, so of course I picked on both of you.

That's what I'm going to do my best to do this time around. I may have figured out one of the stallers from the last attempt.. baby carrots. I didn't realize that 1 service has 8g carbs in it. So I was eating that + hummus and then a low carb wrap and all that.. I was probably teetering towards 50g carbs a day, which is likely where I'll stop losing weight.
