I have been following this rhread off and on for a while. I finally decided i had to go on a diet again when my 2x shirts were getting too tight. I am 6'3" and have always been big and probably always will. Since having back surgery, i have gone from a job on my feet to a desk job. I have continuously put on weight by being much less active.
I have been on induction for a week.

Don't say that! If you REALLY want something, you have to believe it's true. Try thinking of yourself as in shape already. Go to a mirror and tell yourself that you're looking good already or that you are a good lookin' somebitch. It sounds silly, but it works for me and helps keep me motivated. Hell, get someone to photoshop a picture of you and make you look like you're in shape and skinny and see how that makes you feel. Visualization is powerful my friend.
You simply wish yourself thin. Give it time and effort and it will happen. You will get discouraged at times, but it's a journey. If you fall off the horse, get back on and always remember this thread is a great support group
Good luck and great job on the 12 pounds in a week!

If my lazy, fat arse can do it, anyone can. You've got this!

Can you post a video of yourself doing this? Better yet, post it on the OT.

Logan,
I just wanted to say that you are so awesome! I know your mom is watching over you with so much pride. I know you have had many difficulties since your weight loss journey began and yet you keep picking yourself up and charging ahead.
To see you cheerleading for others on this board is truly heartwarming!

170/146/was 150, then 147, now 145 (3rd commitment 2-28-2011)
10 year low. mostly with no exercise (cad's right) but I'm now a thin, out of shape, ethiopian marathon (non)runner.
welcome Josey.

Thanks so much. When you have something set in your heart and you really want it, not much can stop you. Life will always work itself out in the end. I've always said this; it may not be exactly the way you want, but life has a way of working out. This is especially true for those who strive to be better and do good for others. I'm not religious or spiritual, but I do believe in karma and I think we all just need to stay positive and do unto others as we wish upon ourselves.
I've got a great support group in this thread and I've developed a great support group in my friends whom all understand my plight and want to see me succeed also (although they are a hinderance at times). I've even inspired a few people to lose weight too. That helps me keep going at times.

cad is up to 195 again today *sigh* but he kicked some alabamy butt this weekend. finished 6th at road race..3rd on the time trial and 9th in the crit...overall placed 4th for the omnium (points for all races combined) and won $130!!
yes, somehow..someway..someone actually just paid me money to ride my bike.
at some point i'll get back to losing weight..apparently hard-core bike racing has completely halted all weight-loss for me.
