ever heard of curing? All that salt preserves the meat.
yes ive heard of it. Its still gross. Like i said it may be real meat, but what ever they do to it is not natural or healthy.

Plus if you watch the spurlock experiment with aging McDonald's food items, they all rotted away except for the fries. The fries still looked great after 3 months
never saw it, but that burger doesnt look too rotted after 6 months of sitting on a counter.
its hard for me to fathom someone just eating those patties
Posted on 4/19/11 at 5:01 pm to Lester Earl
The only thing he is eating is the patties?
I'm afraid we're surrounded by retards

the link he shared about the nutrition info was for a double cheeseburger, plain, without the bun. I assume he only ate the patties.

I'm sorry but that's just disgusting
And not to mention not good for you
Why the hell would anyone do that?
Just make a hamburger steak at home with some decent meat. Tastes better and is better for you.

I forgot to cook my lunch the night before and was in a rush in the morning. I was in a bind. And they do you up right. They give you a double cheeseburger, plain, no buns, and they put it on top of a big piece of lettuce and it's like a lettuce wrap. It's actually pretty good.
Can you explain to me how it's not healthy? It's food. What's the difference between cooking a hamburger patty at home and eating a hamburger patty at McDonald's? It's all meat, all from cows. Granted, McDonald's meat is probably a lower grade than what you buy and make yourself. But it's fine in a pinch, except for the ridiculous amount of sodium.
I don't think you and I are ever going to come to terms with our diet choices
Seriously, watch Fat Head. Read some articles online. If it at least doesn't get you thinking about what you're doing, then your mind is closed.
Oh well, hatters gonna hat.

Yeah...I mean there is only some feces and ammonia in there. It's probably not that big of a deal.
It's high fat, high sodium, low grade meat. Eat it every day if you think it's perfectly healthy.
I'll stop messing with you because I didn't realize you were hypoglycemic and that obviously is going to make the diet that works for you much different than a regular guy like me would need.

This thread is losing its supportive nature with remarks like "we're surrounded by retards"
You're right. I was really more referring to it seeming like it would taste like crap. I didn't want to take away from the supportive nature of the thread. I'm about to go hit the gym and see if I can't burn a few calories
I'll catch up with you carnivores later

I've read up and researched for me to feel what I'm doing is right. There was too much uncertainty and misinformed people about a high carb, low fat diet when it was passed for me to fully trust it anymore. Politicians played too large of a hand.
you are one hell of a conspiracy theorist

Well I misunderstood you then.
I just got back in from my power walk. FEEL THE BURN!!!

All you need to do is look up how it was passed. The table was very divided on what was healthy or not. There really wasn't a big agreement, but a certain senator (forgot his name) was pushing for high carb, low fat diets. Politicians dropped the hammer and the winner was the current food pyramid. Why did this choose high carb you may ask? Who knows what companies he had that funded his campaign or had his hands dipped in?

Not to be Controlling because I don't have 2 bazillion posts to my credit but here goes
Pman and L Earl are now bringing OT expertise because of 5 or 10 lbs of success. reminds me of smokers who know the only way to quit everyday.
This thread is not about the only way or the best way, its about the way we each have chosen.
Me and my nonplateau will continue to support those who continue the journey.

I think the important point for everyone to remember is that everybody is different and everyone finds dieting success in different ways.
I will NEVER do an Atkins diet but not because I don't think it's healthy but because I'm a carb lover.
I would never have any success on a diet that made me give up bread. Life is too short not to enjoy the things you love.
I did Weight Watchers to lose my weight and it was the right program for me. I happily recommend it to anyone who listens but I would never tell anyone it is the only way or the right way or the only healthy way to lose weight.
My mantra now is everything in moderation and never stop taking my medication for hypothyrodism.

I understand that there isn't only one way
LE and I are just saying that exercise should probably be an integral part of the routine. The number on the scale is important but I think it's more important to try to get lean than it is to lose weight at any cost. There is nothing wrong with putting on some muscle in the process and that will help keep the fat off long term.
We're not trying to rain on anyone's parade. I think we're giving pretty sound advice.
Hell if we were all active we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place so it doesn't hurt to exercise.
