Um, maybe it was the "McDonald's" in the McDonalds that did it.

Awesome! I hope to join you soon. I'm still at 230 and am looking forward to breaking through that 230 barrier that I've been stuck at for 11 days now.

Haven't been below 230 for over 5 years.

Day 12 of non-plateau.

Hang in there. It will move again. I promise. I have been through many non-plateaus and just as I wanted to pull out all of my hair, they would finally break.

Heck Cad and I have been moving slower down the scale than molasses in antartica going up a hill in a semi with 40,000LBs of shite attached.

No, I have no idea what that means either, just saw that on google.

Cad

I stuck to my Atkins.

But look at that sodium and I had 2 of those puppies. McDonalds on its own isn't unhealthy (except the sodium); it's food just like anything else. They use 100% real ground meat. They don't give the grade, said the grade varies.

I truly believe that my diet WORKED this time because I didn't exercise and burn myself out before I got most of the weight off.

"burning out" is usually mental. If you are mentally strong enough to lose 100 lbs like you have, then you probably are mentally strong enough to handle exercising at the same time.

You are right though, it is optional. You don't need exercise to lose weight. But it is more beneficial if you do both.

Fat people that exercise as well as weight train will drop lbs quick. It all doesnt turn into extra weight(aka muscle) that hinders weight loss numbers. Me, personally, would rather look better, and feel healthier than to meet some special number on a scale.

It is.

I used to work there, says it right on the boxes that they are shipped in. It's obviously not all grade A or anything but it's all 100% beef.

This

I haven't dropped any weight in a couple of days but I can feel my clothes fitting better than they did 2 days ago.

And if you add muscle mass it increases your metabolism and will increase the likelyhood that you can keep the weight off. There isn't any point to losing a ton of weight if you're not going to be equipped to stay trim.

I actually saw an article claiming that this is totally normal (for the meat anyway)

It claimed it had to do with the patty being so thin. No one makes burgers at home that thin.

I'll see if I can dig it up. But at any rate that shite is terrible for you.

And all of the salt.

It's food man. How is it terrible for you if eaten in moderation? Besides the sodium intake, I think we can all agree there's ludicrous amounts of sodium.

No, they don't claim it's 100% rib meat.

But I'd bet it's 100% meat. You're appearing a little uninformed about what McDonald's serves. It's food. It's not plastic, it's not soy, it's not fake. Are there preservatives? Absolutely. Can they legally tell you they're serving 100% ground meat and then serve you something that's not 100% meat? No.

it very well could be "100% ground beef" but there has to be some type of additive that makes it not rot. Thin or not. Salt or not. That is not normal.

or its like 60/40, with almost half of it being fat processed with the rest of the meat.

ever heard of curing? All that salt preserves the meat.

Plus if you watch the spurlock experiment with aging McDonald's food items, they all rotted away except for the fries. The fries still looked great after 3 months.

It's the salt. The salt and heat takes the oxygen out of the potatoes so they don't rot or something like that. I saw a documentary on that.

Of course one thing to look at is it may say "100% USDA beef"

But what that might really mean is it's 100% of this beef product that has ammonia in it to kill off the ecoli
