Mine was high when I started in March.

I take some meds and the 78 pounds I have lost have dropped it to about 125/85.

Doc says it should continue to drop as I lose more weight.

You need to get walking.

Unlike the rest of us, you don't have a ton of weight to lose so it will be harder for you to lose weight.

You need to drop calories and get the metabolism going with some exercise.

It was in the healthy range last time I went to the doc. Don't remember the exact numbers but he had no concerns.

I think he was talking about your blood pressure.

As for the 20 pounds... you probably feel it more than anyone else sees it.

iluv, diet and exercise...diet and exercise.

I once went of the Loius Farakahn diet and started jogging, and I couldn't eat enough to maintain my weight.

You have to start in the pantry and fridge...get rid of the crap food in your house.

And start walking, wogging or jogging...anything to get the heart rate up...move that thing...

and you will be on your way.

If you lift weights as part of your exercise program, you can throw the ideal weight tables out the window. The tables say my ideal weight is 180 lbs. When I went on a diet and dropped to 195, I looked like a skeleton. I lift now(and bicycle) and I don't want to be less than 220. Muscle mass skews the tables.

Example: My nephew centered for the Gators when in college, 6'2", weighed 300 lbs, and was <10% body fat. He benched 605 lbs. Now he's dropped to 240, same height, and still <10% body fat. He still lifts and runs. If you do the math, that's 54 lbs of muscle dropped. I think he was pretty healthy at both weights and the tables would still indicate he is obese. Not true. His stomach is flat as a board and he is still ripped.

I think body weight is misleading as an indicator of health if you use weights. I think body fat and waist size is what's important. What's important is not to be flabby.

BMI is mostly a joke... I'd have to be down to 174 to be at the top of the normal range. I'd look anorexic at 174. I'd like to get from the 220s down to the 190s, but past that would just be overkill.

wogging

I am a wogger for sure. I've only been to the gym once this week. But I always try to wog 1 mile and then I do weights for 30 minutes.

I would say about 6 pm last Saturday the top of my head exploded.

Oh and when I finish this, I'm gonna look like an Ethiopian marathon runner. (we can't slide into Ethiopian jokes on this thread can we?)

those are fine, as long as the crackers are made out of whole wheat...

another tip is to make sure that the bread you are using is 100% whole wheat...if it doesn't state this on the wrapper, it probably isn't, and it is not really any better than white bread.

I'm usually around 120/80.

Weighed this morning and saw movement. Had been at 238, now I'm 237. Started last week at 244.

Oatmeal for breakfast with a vegetable quesadilla for lunch and some bread. Very light.

Drinking lots of water.

Still not exercising. I exercised like crazy last May-July when I lost 15 lbs and when I hurt my back I gained the weight back because I was so dependent on the exercise to keep me dieting. I am trying to JUST change my diet right now and will add exercise soon. I just don't want to be dependent on it for weight loss. I tend to eat more than I should when I exercise and then, if I miss exercising, I get discouraged and give up on my diet.

Right now, I'm making it all about diet. Happy to have lost 7 lbs. in 9 days so far.
