I'm going to have an aneurysm if I don't get some movement tomorrow.

Finally broke through the 27 lb barrier, it took 5 days <1100 cals per day.

Great dinner tonight, 2 redfish tacos, total about 550 calories. I was on the road in a hurry for lunch, Wopper Jr, no mayo, 260 cals.

I had my first 'cross-fit' class today with a trainer at the gym.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD

I thought I was in good shape from the cycling..I can climb hills like nobody's business..but I quickly felt like a complete tub of goo after 20 minutes of this.

She laughed when we finished and said she had pretty much hit every muscle group in my body with the routine and prepare to be sore for a few days. I can already feel it...I know I have no upper body strength..this just confirmed it.

I'm pretty excited though..the woman I'm working with is smoking hot and I get several 1-1 sessions for rejoining the gym.

I'm switching from doing so much cycling to running to prepare for the music city marathon in april. We'll see how that goes along with this mini 'insanity/p90x' thingie she's got me doing.

Good stuff.

Try Metamucil and eat lot of grapes, very common when dieting. Oh, you meant your weight, never mind.

Sometimes it seems like there is a lag in when I cheat and gorge and when the scale moves. Or when I've been running and dieting the other way. I can't really explain it. Chances are, I'll be back down tomorrow morning.

ding ding ding

correct. do not expect to lose a pound every time you work out for 2 hours. it doesn't work that way.

i've had weeks where i've ridden 35+ miles per day 5 days straight and don't see a single pound drop (I don't weigh after the ride because I'm usually down 1-3lbs of water weight) and then I'll go for several days without *ANY* exercise and drop a pound every day.

In short, the body is a mysterious thing about how it manages your weight. The one constant is that exercise ***IS*** good for you and as long as you're not getting discouraged and pigging out, that exercise you did 2 weeks ago *WILL* pay off. Just not always right when you expect it.

Remember more muscle = more engines running = more fat burning = less fat ultimately. WAKE THOSE ENGINES UP!! PUT THEM TO WORK!

I had that problem earlier this week. I think being on a diuretic and eating no carbs might be a bit tough on the insides. I have been drinking between 64 and 96 ounces of water a day but that didn't help.

Can I retroactively join? I dropped a 50 spot between labor day 09 and this past spring. I'm in the "keep it off" stage.

I subscribed to the tried and true Walton & Johnson diet, eat less move around more.

The only real long term answer to weight control.

I've done crossfit and p90x while on the plus side of 250 lbs. It starts tough but like anything, it gets easier. But expect to be sore for 4-5 days after initially starting. Christ, it's miserable. It got to be too much on my knees so I had to give it up. I'm going to drop a few more pounds and do it again.

Badass!

People at work keep asking me what I'm doing because it's starting to be noticeable that I'm dropping some weight. They're almost disappointed I think when I tell them that this is all I'm really doing. I wake up early, do a mile, watch what I eat and keep it around 1500 calories and under 2000g sodium, and then I do another 2 miles at night. I think they're hoping I'm taking some magic pill or something. Just stop eating as much and exercise more!

I've looked at that and I'm thinking the same way. I want to try it, but I know my limits. I need to get a few lbs off of me and get used to running a little while before tackling that stuff. When I hit my goal before Thanksgiving, I'll probably coast through the holidays and then tackle this P90 thing after the holidays. I have a plan lol

Day six of the plateau from hell. 1200 calories or less a day with some exercise every day and zero loss.

Nada. Nothing. 6 days in hell.

don't give up. you'll get there! 1200 calories a day with exercise? are you sure you're eating enough?

they have online calculators that tell you how many you should be eating. (it just seems low to me)

shock your metabolism and work in a 2000 calorie day right away and then again three days later .. the scale will move .. your body thinks it is starving to death and has adjusted to your intake ..

I was already down 65 or so when I started posting in this thread, so I don't see why not?

Busted through to 279 this morning, down 29 since 8/1. Re-inventing my personal cuisine so I can lose weight and eat well. Not really that difficult.

This... It ain't hard. The only thing you have to remember is no one's going to do it for you.

Still in the upper 220s this morning... was in the lower 220s last week. I need to eat a lot better this weekend, and exercise more, than I did last weekend.
