Taking out the bread will most def. make it atkins-friendly. Not carbless though. Eggs, mayo, relish, lettuce, and possibly mustard (depends on the mustard) will have carbs. Not many altogether, but probably ~5g per serving.

Hulk,
Congrats on the dog and the weight loss.

I'm not sure if I would do the Science diet dog food. Just make sure you get a dog food that has real meat as the #1 ingredient (you and he would be on the same diet).

I don't know if you have a Sam's membership, but they have a Sam's brand (Member's Mark) dog food called Exceed. You can get chicken or lamb. The number 1 ingredient is real chicken or real lamb. It also has high fat content which is important. Less than $30 for a 44 lb bag.

Also, if you trim fat from your steaks, chicken, etc., feed it to him. Meat fat is the best thing you can feed your dog. It helps with digestion, shiny coat, etc.

I keep hearing that eggs have carbs, but when I look at the nutritional info on my eggs, it says 0 carbs. I have noticed that some brands say 1 carb. Of course, I buy the 0 carb brand, but is there really a difference in different brands of eggs?

I'm thinking your 20 lb fluctuation was a typo.

your right though, slow and steady, like brisket and ribs. Limas and squash are money.

yeah...the lima beans were kinda bland...I added a little bit of salt and sriracha to them

I want to try to avoid adding too much sodium content to stuff...it probably already has a decent amount coming out of a can. I usually rinse off stuff like that in a colander for a few minutes, don't know if that makes any difference. The liquid that it's preserved in makes me want to

Buy frozen limas instead (or fresh, of course).

Companies round off the numbers. If less than .5, they say zero. If .6, they say 1. Eggs naturally have a little bit of carbs, about .5 per egg. So when you eat 3 eggs in the morning, you're actually consuming ~1.5 carbs.

And my half-sister takes care of animals, has worked in a shelter since she was 16 (25 now), her stepdad is a vet, and she knows tons about dog nutrition.. she's going to look at dog foods at petsmart and recommend one.

I don't have a Sam's card, but I've always wanted one.. maybe it's time..

Holy crap. Are they dumping a bottle of salt in there?
I can make egg salad with almost no salt. Of course it sucks, but I can make it with a few teaspoons of sriracha and only 100 to 200 mgs of sodium.

Almost halfway!

I wish I would've started in January when my roommate decided to start gaining weight.. I'd be so far along by now. Still not bad where I'm at.
