I didn't follow my weigh once a week idea. Just too damn curious when I wake up every morning.

Same here Hulk. I always say I'll only check it once per week, but end up checking it about twice per day.

I do only report it here once per week.

put on my size 32 Levis today and they're loose!!

Loose 32's at 201? How tall are you? I'm sure you have some heavier lean muscle from all of the biking and exercising, but there is no way I would be in 32's at 201 lbs. Then again, I'm only 5'10". I got down to 204 a couple of years ago and was proud to be comfortably wearing 36's.

It's body type. I'm 5'9 and need to get under 160 to get in my set of Levi 32's. it's been a four years since I've seen my 31's. My excess weight is all in my middle. Pregnant snake type.

They are Levi's 569s which are a looser cut. I can't get my legs into 505s with all the biking.

I'm 6'1".

I'm glad you mentioned that..the last time I was at 199..I was wearing a size 36 as well. I still have plenty of body fat..the scales tell me I have 48.6lbs of fat..or 26% or so body fat..but my 34s were getting really really baggy so I tried the 32 and was surprised.

I'm guessing alot is due to cycling..my legs are getting pretty massive which is why i cant fit in 'normal' cut levis.

I didn't meant to sound braggy..but I was super-excited when I put them on and they fit so comfortably. I do think this style of jeans is more generous around the waist too.

eta...pics or gtfo?

hard to say..if you're over 100lbs lighter by then and you've been working out..its a distinct possibility. I was in 36s right around the 220 mark.

Hmm.

Well I'm thinking 220 is where I want to be permanently. If I'm not happy with it I may think about 200 but.. at 6'3 I can't expect to be 180 or something.

36 jeans and a large shirt? I like the way that sounds. It's gonna happen eventually!

This thread.

I'm sure Cad will type up a refresher.

Just stick to 20 net carbs a day until you decide to leave induction. Once you leave induction add 5 carbs a week until you get where you want to be.

Like Myth said, this thread is great. I'd read chapter 10 of DANDR(Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution) to jog the memory, overall it's pretty simple. Eat meat, 2 cups of salad, and 1 cup of veggies every day in induction, then once you feel like leaving induction and moving to OWL, add 5 carbs a day (so 25 a day) of veggies for the first week, the next week you can add 5 more grams in the form of dairy (so 30g) and so on and so forth. Chapter 10 I believe describes OWL and the different "rungs" of the OWL ladder that you add 5g a week until you stop losing.

Induction is 2 weeks recommended, but you can stay in induction for 6 months if you want. There really isn't much that's good for you if it kills a sweet tooth, but you can have some cream cheese IIRC. I don't have sweet tooths very often so IDK. And yes veggies fit into atkins, but they all have some carbs. In induction, you eat 2 cups of salad mix per day + 1 cup of other veggies. The other veggies are up to you, but the total is supposed to be 20g of carbs per day for everything combined..

But you can find handy wallet-sized "induction approved" list here:

Don't use Splenda as a sweet tooth killer, unless you like tingly fingers (yours not someone else's).

freaking 200.9 myth ur weight loss over last year is like double mine...i think the race to 185 is a lost cause for me but I'm not giving up...training is in full swing now and its not easy. so we'llsee....

oh 257/200.9/185 1/1/10

I'm so freaking tired of the first digit being a 2!!!

We're almost in the same boat. I started at 255 and I'm 5'10". My initial goal is 200, but if I can get down to 180, that would be best. I'll have to work my tail off for that, obviously. I'm at 235 now and would love to not see that "2" in front of the other numbers.

What have you done, in a nutshell?

I just found out that it's one of the common side effects of Splenda for some people. Mine started a few days after I started using it in my coffee. I'm going to black coffee.
