I've got a planned cheat tomorrow. I had my family spread my birthday events out so tomorrow is my b-day lunch with pops.
I don't plan to behave so Cad, tomorrow is your shot to get back into contention.
I am going to ride myself to near death before lunch. I know it would be better to do it some time after but I also know with a full belly, I might not make it outside with the bike.

Official week 3 weigh-in: 347
So I gained a pound.. I'm going to start going to the pool every day instead of walking. That should shred calories and fat. Also from hence forth I shall only weigh once a week! (or try to)

Ha! You done gone and broke your new weigh-in rule on day 1.
Sometimes the scale is just a mean bastard.
I ate about 1000 calories yesterday and I packed on a pound.
323/196.5/185
Nothing but water weight, but it is still frustrating. Actually it could be muscles in my legs from biking. I have none, so I will be adding muscle the more I ride.
Frustrating on the scale but I am healthier.

Where you at Cad? Hiding from a bad weigh-in or did you evaporate after a 200 mile bike ride?
You should be able to gain serious ground today with my mystery weight gain coupled with the fact I am about to stuff my face with fajitas at Casa Garcia.

Back from the camping trip with the Cub Scouts. I decided going in that I either had to eat the food in the mess hall or the canned foods and pork skins I brought. Either way, there was no way to watch carbs, calories, sodium, nitrites/nitrates, etc. To avoid taking myself out of ketosis, I decided to focus on carbs and let the rest go for the weekend.
Luckily, the mess hall did have a small salad bar with lunch and dinner. They even had chopped eggs, but unfortunately, they were always frozen solid.
Friday dinner - mess hall served corn dogs or fish sticks, french fries, fruit cocktail and some dessert. I know it's not a great choice, but I peeled the batter off the corndog and ate the weiner (which still had ice crystals in it). I also had a nice salad with frozen eggs and ranch dressing.
Saturday breakfast - Served scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits, gravy, etc. I had both of my twins get eggs, even though they wanted cereal. With their eggs and mine, as well as my piece of sausage, this was far and away my best meal. It was even all copmletely ice free.
Saturday lunch - served ham or turkey and cheese subs with chips and fruit cocktail. I ate a slice of turkey, a slice of ham, 2 slices of cheese, and a small salad with frozen eggs and ranch.
Saturday dinner - served spaghetti, breadsticks, fruit cocktail, and cobbler. I had heard the menu earlier and knew it would be a struggle so I slammed 2 cans of sardines before going to the mess hall for a salad. They were out of ranch dressing, and the only other dressings were french and 1000 island, which are both carb loaded. I passed and just had some pork skins later while everyone else made s'mores.
Sunday breakfast - served french toast and sausage links. I just ate a few links of sausage.
Sunday lunch - on the ride home, we stopped at Santa Fe Steakhouse. I had the 12 oz. ribeye with caesar salad (no croutons) and sauteed mushrooms. I know mushrooms aren't really low carb, but man were they good. I only ate about half of them.
I didn't need to supplement the menu as much as I thought I would. I checked this morning and had lost a few pounds since my Wednesday weigh-in, so at least the weekend didn't set me back. Of course, I probably walked 20 miles over the weekend.
I need to buy some of the sticks to see if I'm still in ketosis. I know I was earlier as I could smell it in my urine. Not sure anymore.
ETA: sorry for the long play by play.

Makes you realize just how many carbs we're being fed as a "healthy" meal plan huh? Think about it - spaghetti AND bread sticks?! Think about how much sugar that turns into once it's digested!
New studies show that carbs are actually more responsible for heart disease than red meat! In fact, saturated fats actually do not raise cholesterol and cholesterol doesn't CAUSE artery and heart damage; in fact it helps repair it.
Seriously, everyone needs to watch the movie "fat head".

one more week and I'll have my before and 1-month pictures!
P.S.
I showed my aunt, who is a nurse, Fat Head and she started Atkins as well. My grandparents started second guessing what their doctors advised them and everything. The guy did so much research about high-fat diets and why the low-fat, high carb diets are a bunch of "bologna" according to the narrator.. lol

hi all..yes i am hiding behind a bad weigh-in
actually 203 today..but 9 hours in a car..coupled with a really stressful last couple of days of "vacation" and i'm happy. i left weighing 202 and got back at 203. feeling very bloated today as well so i'm hoping as i get into the meat of the training program that the weight will take care of itself.
should be a better weigh-in tomorrow and once my body calms down from a ridiculously crazy week in louisiana. some good mudbugs tho
you're way damn in front of me now myth..but slow & steady wins the race

Fantastic job on the scout weekend. I couldn't have done it any better and I probably would have caved and eater the whole frozen corn dog. So nicely done.
Cad
I'm feeling a bit like that guy after my Casa Garcia feast.
I procrastinated on my morning bike ride so I need to get my arse out there once my food settles down.

OK completely new to this thread. Starting on the weight loss bandwagon (again) today.
Starting point: 306. Historical successes (went from 331 to 152 once). Obviously failures are equal to and greater since I am where I am.
A couple of things, what does the xxx/xxx/xxx formation on these posts mean, and have any good recipes been posted? (I am working through the 109 pages....)

Welcome aboard! I think I speak for us all when I say newcomers are always welcome!
Starting weight/current weight/goal. Sometimes we throw in the start date as well (example: 363/347/250 02/26/11)
Good luck! I don't think anyone's posted any recipes. If you're looking at going on atkins, there are a lot of good recipes on www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com in the forum section.. there's an entire part of the forum dedicated to atkins-friend and induction-friendly recipes.

Welcome aboard igoringa. Thanks to you, I'm no longer the thread newbie.
This thread is really supportive, which is strange for anything on tigerdroppings.
Not sure about posted recipes, as I didn't read the entire thread. However, I have had success on several different diets over the years and have found some good recipes that work with all. Let us know which diet plan you are using and maybe I can post a few of my favorites if i ever tried that program.
