You can repair your body. Just start eating.

Do strict keto.

HEY FELLAS!

Quick (okay, not really) question... I finally busted through my Keto plateau, and am weighing in below 200lbs for the first time since I was 12 years old. I have always been active, played football in college, and have carried my weight well - even at my heaviest. I used to be very bulky, and done competitive lifting, etc... without ever worrying about the number on the scale.

Here's the issue I'm having now... I haven't been in a real workout routine that I stick to in many years, until recently. I'm just curious as to whether or not I can know the weight I lose/gain is fat or muscle?

I get so excited to see that number drop on the scale, then a few days later it's back up and higher than it was the last time I weighed, even as I strictly follow my keto and hit my macros daily. What should I be paying attention to? I want to look good, but I also want to be at a healthy, sustainable weight - which means I need to lose at least another 15 lbs probably.

Thanks for the help, and the effort and energy you guys put into this thread.

Are you getting stronger and losing weight?

That's a good sign.

I'm with net, that shite looks amazing.

And net lmk when you ready to jump on the rapid fatloss diet pain train and I'll run your numbers on the calculator. Diet is legit as hell but I am so tired of fricken chicken breast. Just want a big arse steak or some killer wings.

I just got done moving. I was too tired to lift in the mornings and eat well. I didn't go far off the rails or anything. Had to pick up food for a week or so.

Move is done. I'm back in there tomorrow to get my routine back in place.

I wanna try rfl when I get my feet under me again.

I am getting a little stronger, but the weight loss has slowed to a frustrating crawl. I am noticing more lines in my muscles when I workout, outlines of abs that I've never been able to see before, etc... but that number on the scale is almost defeating at times, especially when it increases one day to the next. My healthy weight is considered to be around 175, but that just seems so unreachable. Should I just stop looking at the scale for a while? Stop working out except for cardio until I lose my desired weight?

I quit doing the scale as much. Mainly just to have something to post here. lol

I don't really care what I look like, or how much strength I've gained. I feel better and don't have any pain in my joints, back, or fatigue. I know the amount of inflammation, at a cellular level, has a lot to do with it. Perricone Promise is a good read if you want to take a look at it.

Bus says don't do cardio. Lift more.

I like cardio, so I do both. 30 min of bike time, then 30 of lifting. Always start with a core lift, then a supplemental move of some kind.

Both, but as you get down to the lower body fat %s, its best to switch to a low fat style of cutting. Keto is fine for losing weight in general, but once you are to a low enough body % its best to start cycling carbs with occassional carb refeeds and limit fat intake.

I was in the same boat as you, I switched to lean gains and it knocked off the rest of my fat. You want to limit fat storage on workout days especially, and to get below 15% body fat and closer to the 10% range you have to limit fat intake overall.

Ok

I'm gonna help ya with these tomorrow.
I'll take pics and show ya a good recipe you can use to help get some fat in your diet, use the sauce you got, and keep them low carb/sugar.

Do you have a cast iron pan?

These were better than the microwave version. The sauce can save everything.

I'll pick up a cast iron tomorrow.
