You good bro, didn't know he was a douche on other boards.

So I just finished 2 hours of cardio for a total of three for the day. Just not gonna make the fourth hour. Just don't have the energy. Had to drink a cup of coffee just to get through that last hour.

After reading roughly over the article about sugar and fat loss. The studies cited as sources never mention if the diets without sugar are high carb or high fat. 5% of sugar doesn't really tell us what they are doing.

Another study, well done to their standards, ha compared 10% HFCS, 20%HFCS, to 10% Sucrose and 5% Sucrose of total calories.
quote:

"the total meal plan for all four hypocaloric groups was based on the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Exchange List and ranged from 50% - 55% carbohydrates, 15%-20% protein, and 25%-30% fat."
So they kept the diet the same.

I delved a bit further an the article cites a study claiming
quote:

Over six weeks, both diets produced the same amount of fat loss. [11] Furthermore, markers of inflammation were lower in the moderate-carb group than the low-carbohydrate group.
but, I looked at the study, LINK, and found this gem...
quote:

The protein content of the 2 experimental diets was comparable—˜30% energy—but the KLC diet was high in fat (60% of energy; saturated fat, 21% of energy) and very low in carbohydrates (beginning with ˜5% of energy), whereas the NLC diet was low in fat (30% of energy; saturated fat, 9% of energy) and carbohydrates (˜40% energy). The carbohydrate content of the KLC diet was increased by 5 g/wk in weeks 3–6, and subjects following this diet were instructed to consume ˜40 g carbohydrates/d during the self-monitored phase of the trial.
Why start them in keto, then move them up to 40 g of carbs during the self monitoring phase? So we just change the game mid-study? Ridiculous.

I think I lost context of the article. We both know the addictive nature of sugar and carbohydrates. If you mind explaining what you meant a bit further, I can look into it more tomorrow.

I haven't read it but any study that allows self monitoring is completely void imo because people lie and they lie a lot. Especially when it comes to food and exercise.

Same with any study on weight training where they don't lift at the facility monitored by coaches or their diet isn't provided for them and everything is monitored by those that get paid to do the study is complete crap.

Why not do the study at a school like lsu and use students where they come eat the meals and you weigh what was eaten and what wasn't and adjust?

Btw layne post a bunch of studies like this and it's why I can't take him mm 100% serious all the time. Granted he is a pro natural bber and power lifter so he does know what he is doing and he does well with his clients. Just can't stand the I have a doctorate so I know more attitude. Same as jim stoppani, dude acts like a know it all but couldn't even formulate his own supplement line. Bb.com had to do it for him.

I started prepping my breakfasts on Sundays so I don't need to cook in the morning. I realized that, because of that, I can get up at 5:30 and rush a little and make it to work on time. That one extra hour of sleep makes such a difference

Caffeine + L-theanine + adrafinil stack counters any lack of sleep.

Well I bet so

But the problem is waking up at that time. Once I'm up, I'm up.

trying to be real with myself again and start logging all of my calories. Ended yesterday at 2430 and 34 carbs. Really have to stop the lazy keto.

Also time to ramp it back up in the gym. Hopefully that will help me out with my sleeping problems since I'm not smoking anymore.
