I spent much of my college life frequenting Albertsons in Baton Rouge. Wal Mart on College and Seigan on special occasions. Winn Dixie Burbank on the week before fall and Spring Break for checking out the new talent checking in. The Publixs I have shopped at in FL and GA are leaps and bounds more pleasant than any of the aforementioned stores in Baton Rouge. Cleanest grocery store I have ever frequented.

Pretty much everything from the deli is awesome. I loved having them near my house in Florida.
I hate not having them nearby.
Plus, they're usually very clean stores. The floor is clean, windows, the lights, it just looks nice. Not like the regular dirty linoleum floors and finger prints all over the windows like most of grocery stores that we have here.
Agree with the fried chicken comment. Their hot wings are awesome. Looks like regular fried chicken wings, no sauce on them or anything but bite into those things.....
I miss my Publix.

OP - well keep shopping at walmart. Publix is everything opposite of the walmart experience. Short check out lines, clean stores and bathrooms, employees that greet you and actually help, amazing fried chicken and even better fried chicken tenders. They will order items for you. Great beer selection, bogo specials every week, and pretty good store brand items.

This might be an after thought to most people but Publix has great lighting. It's not dark and dank on the inside like Winn Dixie. The store is well lit which also makes it look cleaner and Publix is easier to get around and navigate. Publix store ailes dont look overstocked and disorganized like some stores. Yes the bakery/deli awesome and they do have some specialty items I cannot find other places.
Remember when Winn Dixie had the slogan, "Getting better all the time,"? It's like they were admitting "yeah we suck and thanks for telling us." Publix will never have a slogan like this because they have done it right the first time.

I agree.
Seems that the people defending the store have never been to another grocery store that is clean, the service is good, the prices are lower and the produce is better.
Without question the deli is very good. Fried chicken is off the chart. Other than that, I will go to Kroger or Costco.
