Saw an advertisement for the new Ball aluminum cups. 100% recyclable! Look pretty cool, probably better than Solo cups since they’re 10x the price.

But if you have a drink on ice it’s like holding ice. If you have a hot coffee it Burns your hand. There’s zero insulation. Probably a reason why we haven’t used thin metal cups throughout history.

Try em, I promise you’ll hate em.

a root beer from a tap with crushed ice in a metal cup is the best thing ever in the summer.

Nothing tastes better than an ice cold drink in a thin metal cup in the summer. It just doesn’t get any better.

I saw them advertised and a few people gushing over them

I have no idea why anyone would want them. They're too expensive for disposable cups. If you wash them I see no advantage over regular cups. They don't insulate, they don't protect your hand from heating/cooling.

The single thing I saw that made any sense is that they would be idea cups if you play a lot of beer pong.

I dont like drinking out of metal, cant use a Yeti cup either and dont like a Mule in the copper. Dont know why, but seems like I can taste a metallic taste.

Looks like you're drinking out of a cocktail shaker.

What part of “Greensteel Steel cups” made you think they were the same thing as the “Ball aluminum cups”?

Well one is an insulated metal cup like a lot of people use. The other is a specific, brand name disposable cup that’s as thin as a solo cup and has no insulation. The thin disposable one is what this thread is about.

they are polystyrene
standard plastic recyclers typically won’t take them, some will some won’t. When the go in the landfill they last forever
