This past weekend with the weather I broke out the charcoal grill- only grill I have. Made burgers for the family on Saturday and grilled chicken on Sunday. So, I got thinking, what do I want to master going into grilling season this year. 3 things came to mind. Greek food, fajita’s, and different vegi or sides while cooking meat that I have never done before.

What are your thoughts for grilling season? Traditional or experimentation?

Find that Munche's facebook page. It's good production quality videos of mexican bar b q. There's some wild shite in there that I plan on trying this year. Lots of grinding your own shite with a mortar and pestle, bone marrow stuff too

My wife started giving me the complaint of "why don't you do more grilled veggies" late last summer.

Problem is... I'm just not a huge fan of grilled veggies. Corn is fine. Potatoes, sure.

I cook things the way I like them and by constantly testinad and refining. I am always trying new ideas, but I don't like squash or zucchini, etc, so I have no idea how to cook them and make them taste good.

I don't think I'm ever going to come to like them, but I guess I need to figure out some ways to cook them to keep the wife happy.

It's pretty easy to toss them in some olive oil and add S&P and grill. Grilled asparagus is also very good. Same with grilled eggplant slices. Grilled onions, tomatoes, carrots, radishes, brussel sprouts....

I like both tradition and innovation.

Here is a good one for you. Whole baking potato wrapped with a slice of bacon, then wrapped in foil, then on the grill indirect for about an hour.

This. And make sure you make the green sauce to go with it.

Serious Eats has a good recipe for both.
