Up here in NE AL we have two hidden gems that I really like: Ole Gin Steakhouse and Tiger’s Inn Cafe.

There is an Iraqi place in Metairie called Almasgoof, Food is great, but the proprietor is even better. He will give you samples of his Iraqi tea and his lentil soup, which are both amazing. You can just tell the guy is really passionate about his food and wants you to enjoy eating it

Landry's Cafe was good when it was open, but it has been permanently closed for a few years.

That building is now a taqueria.

E&Ls BBq in Jackson.

Rib tips, sauce on the side. It’s been a couple of years since I’ve been there, but I used to eat there once a week.

Pacos Tacos on Vets in Metry.

Birria Tacos are fantasctic, cheap and way easier to walk in and order vs making them.
