Regardless of the price....

Its never so generous a portion that if flows out the box like their advertisement shows.

Last time I went it was $1.29 per strip and they always give an extra one. I don't like anything besides their strips including the sauce. When I go I just get strips and eat them with ketchup and white bread.

We get it, you like to eat healthy meals (although you've said you can put down an 8 piece from Popeyes by yourself, which no human should do). You don't need to come into every thread about comfort foods and tell us how shitty your recipes are.

How many tenders are in the Caniac?

I'm not a chicken tender girl, but I've seen tender platters at casual sit-down restaurants that have 9-12 tenders, 1-2 sides, and a sauce for $10-$12.

You're right though. It kinda comes out the same. We did at least 10 tenders plus 2 sides at Dempseys, but I just looked at similar places and it varies. WalkOns is tenders, fries, and sauce for $9.99.. but Masons is a measly 4 tenders with fries for $12.

This is all hard to tell without knowing the amount of chicken in oz.

seriously though, what adult eats chicken tenders?

I guess the business has grown to what it is because no one but kids eat it. Some of you people are helpless.

The original box in the mid to late 90s had much more food than the Caniac does today.

every fast food restaurant has cut portions and raised prices since the 90s. in case you haven't noticed, people got pretty fat and the price of food has gone up. shocking, i know

Are you denying that adults eat Cane's and similar products? Would you like to bet any amount of money on it?

Right? Or Mac and cheese? Hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream? Chicken fingers aren't something I normally crave or ever really order, but sometimes a quick and easy meal is in order. Didn't know there was an age limit to enjoy certain foods.

Reign in the troll a little bit so it isn't so obvious.

Da Parish, 7.69 for a box, 10.98 for a caniac, plus tax. Franchise stores are more expensive than company stores.

BTW had a Canes breakfast at San Antonio airport. Wish more locations would do breakfast.

The Box Combo (4 Chicken Fingers, Fries, Coleslaw, Cane's Sauce, Texas Toast & Regular Drink - 22 oz.) $6.98

How anyone thinks that is overpriced is beyond me. You would have to be extremely cheap or very large.

$7 is on par with a chicken sandwich combo at your average bad fast food restaurant

I worked at the original location for three years (2006-09)

Order a sandwich combo on toast no lettuce with sauce on the side. That's like getting a three finger combo with an extra toast without paying extra.

A box combo without subbing the coleslaw is about 1200-1400 calories iirc.

They did change the chicken in the past couple of years from Tyson to someone else and it's shite. Very disappointing to eat there now but I still love the sauce and fries and toast.
