I prefer Louisiana Hot Sauce brand over Crystal and Tabasco. I like that LHS is a little thicker than the other two. Also a fan of the Slap Ya Mama hot sauce.

It doesn't make sense to compare Louisiana hot sauces to mexican. They have different flavor profiles and don't always go with the same types of food.

Crystal & Louisiana are staples in my home and are used regularly in my home. Sriracha has become a new comer recently for other foods where my favorites do not blend as well.

However, Tabasco chipotle sauce is the best product Tabasco ever made. As far as Mexican Hot sauce, I use whatever I can find at the place I am eating. I think I may look into Mexican sauces this year.

Not at all, those are both great. I have all of the above on my hot sauce shelf in the fridge

Hot sauces in the fridge is a yankee move.

Valentina exta hot and the seafood variety Valentina are great.

All the hot sauces have their place though. Crystal for cajun dishes IMO.

Someone mentioned the herdez taco salsa. It's good but not as good as the gaucamole salsa from herdez. I put it on left over jambalaya.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the fella that owns a mexican store told me the extra hot valentina is being stopped at the border.

Oooh, I need to find this (Herdez Avocado Hot Sauce). Their Guac salsa is so damn good. Anyone know where this hot sauce can be found in LA?

Each hot sauce has its specialty. I love Cholula on eggs and wings or any kind of chicken. Crystal is great on taters. I like Tabasco in veggie soup or roast beef. Siracha + ketchup is great on fries or roasted sweet potatoes or parsnips.

Tapatio and Valentina are good too.

The best I ever had was some that a friend of my dad's made. He gave me a 16 oz plastic coke bottle of it and it must have lasted 10 years. It was the hottest sauce I've ever had, but had a great flavor, especially in vegetable soup or beef stew. One drop per bowl hot.

Why do you keep the hot sauces in the fridge?

I keep mine in the fridge. For me it’s about the contradiction. The cool feel vs. the hot taste.
