Headed to Portland this coming Wednesday thru Monday for a trip with the SO. The 30th Annual Oregon Brewer's Festival will be taking place while we're there so I'll be hitting that up in addition to several breweries including but not limited to:

Ex Novo
Great Notion
Breakside
10 Barrel
Fatheads
Base Camp
Cascade
pFriem (Hood River)
Full Sail (Hood River)

Also know of some bottle shops called Apex, Beermongers and Belmont Station, but it'd be a crap shoot on what to buy and bring back with me.

Suggestions are more than welcome.

Cascade have any offerings other than sours? I'm a fan, but I'm gonna have trouble staying there to try things out bc my SO hates sours.

Cascade did a tap takeover at Beachwood here in Seal Beach last week. I highly recommend Tangerine dream.

Pretty awesome list OP. If time permits, add Block 15 and deGarde to your list.

Hit up Commons. You can enjoy sours while she can non-sours.

I'll look into those 2 in addition to Commons.

And LSUintheNW, I ruled out Double Mountain because the photos made it look more like a restaurant and less like a place to throw a few back. Plus the day is jam packed already with stuff. I won't rule anything out until I'm actually there though. So pumped for this trip.

Full Sail Amber ale used to be my go to. For some reason, they stopped selling it in LA all together.

You were? How long are you in town?

pFriem is the best brewery in Hood River.

Astoria is another town that you may want to consider. It is on the coast where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean. Fort George is the best brewery experience in the state, IMO. They have some great beers right now - 3 Way and Matryoshka are phenomenal. Reach Break is a new one you've probably never heard of, but they are making waves. Buoy Brewing is really good, and right on the water.

Ex Novo - (very nice. Try the Eliot Brewers Edition)
Great Notion (Great hazy IPAs, sours, and stouts)
Breakside (3 locations - I prefer the Slabtown westside, but the NE side location is a comfortable hangout)
10 Barrel (Very cool vibe. Can get crowded - rooftop bar)
Fatheads (Atmosphere is just OK. Beers are pretty good)
Base Camp (Atmosphere is great. Beers are OK)
Cascade (Sours, sours, sours)
pFriem (Hood River) - Totally recommend. Riverfront.
Full Sail (Hood River) - great view. Beer is OK.

All of the breweries mentioned have food that is better than average.

Add to your list: Add Culmination, Deschutes, Hopworks Urban Brewing (HUB), Hair of the Dog, and The Commons to your brewery list. Honestly, I would just have a list and then look and see what's close by to wherever you're at. It doesn't matter what brewery you're at, there will be another brewery within a mile.

As far as taprooms go, Tin Bucket, NWIPA, Imperial Tap Room and Loyal Legion are fantastic on the East Side, and Baileys is great on the west side. Tap lists vary, but usually all of those places do a great job of curating their taplist. The Beermongers only has 10 taps, but it's a great 10 taps, usually. Hell, NWIPA only has 6 taps, but 5 of them are world class IPAs. If you can't find a beer you like at The Beermongers, you can cross the street and go to Apex Bar. If you're headed out towards the beaches, ABV Pub is just off the highway in Hillsboro, and is my favorite hangout. Those places all have taprooms and bottleshops.

Today is my only day in Portland. Headed to the coast at the moment, probably hit great notion later today.

I'm guessing you're hitting up De Garde? The trip down to Pacific City is always pretty spectacular. Pelican Brewpub has decent beers, but the beach there is spectacular, and I recommend the smoked oyster bruschetta.
