I can remember my dad buying dinner from Popeyes on Williams Blvd in 1976. He’d order a 3-pc. white spicy with onion rings and a Pepsi. When getting home and opening the bag, it was a 2-pc dark with fries and a root beer.
Granted I’m exaggerating a little bit, but PFC is the only fast food restaurant that has been Fk’ing up orders for nearly 50 years and they still can’t get it right.
So true. We were hitting up the same store and getting the same BS. If the chicken ever was good (and it was) the service has always been the worst. Rule #1 has always been check your order before you leave because it's wrong.

I love going to the local Popeyes here in DFW to get food for my kids exactly because of the anticipation of what’s going to be dysfunctional this time. COVID has only made it more random since it’s drive thru only. There’s a Whataburger on the way home so it’s a fallback option.
On the most recent trip, I ordered a chicken sandwich and was told that they didn’t have any sandwiches. Instead, I asked for the new flounder sandwich and the speaker box told me that they didn’t have ANY sandwiches. That was a new one.
Another time, after waiting in line with other cars but not getting acknowledged at the speaker box, I drove up to the pickup window and there was a handwritten sign saying they were closed. Ha ha! Good one, Popeyes!
The handwritten “cash only” sign has been used a couple of times.
Surprisingly, when I do get to place an order, they fill it with precision
If I ever get homesick or want to show my kids what living in Louisiana is like day in and day out, I take them to Popeyes.

The key is to go to a Popeye's outside of the deep south.

I have never faulted the frontline employees of Popeyes. Every instance of incompetence is directed to an idiocy of management. If it is corporate or franchise, they are lacking.
To the poster that said "give them some time".
The drive thru at my local Chic-fil-A has on average 20 cars with a wait time of less than 10 minutes.
How can you stay in business when you don't have a product to sell?

No kidding, I have been going less and less because of this. The other sides just don't do it for me.

Popeye's is perfect and you are the problem.

Other things might happen in these negotiations. A staffer may ignore you. A Popeyes employee might laugh when you request something, because—-well shite, what are you even doing trying to request something from Popeyes? Does one ask Mt. Everest to move aside when walking through the Himalaya? Does the lion request clearance from the elephant for safe passage across the savanna? Do you, on hearing a hurricane roaring towards your house, ask it to stop by the store for some Pedialyte and rice crackers, because you’re hungover and really don’t want the hassle of dealing with it and a weather system simultaneously?

Go in, never order through the window (may not be an option since COVID)
If I have to go thru the drive thru I just choose to go eat somewhere else. Total waste of time.

Popeye's is shite. It's dry, small and jerky. KFC original recipe is better than that frickin garbage and Brother's and Time Savers is better than both.
That's really all I have access to.

I'll bet this is true.

The steps to a great Popeyes experience.
1. Never use the drive through.
2. Be very friendly with the cashier, ask how she/he are durrin' or inquire how yo mom and em'.
3. Don't order complicated combinations of chicken or sides. A 12 piece spicy family box with mashed potatoes is hard to frick up.
4. Carefully watch them prepare your order to ensure proper order fulfillment.
5. Thank your cashier before exiting the establishment.
6. Get home and enjoy your food while trying to correctly pronounce the cashier's name printed on your receipt.
Bonus- Always pay with cash so no one steals your credick/debick card numbers.

Solid advice. Maybe I'll hate popeye's less.
