Just tried one. They must have left off the spicy sauce. Tasted like a plain chicken sandwich but it was still really good, just no spice.

Man, Popeyes leaves off the spicy sauce and you get down voted. What's this world coming to?

A guy I work with just posted this on facebook

quote:

There’s a whole lot of buzz out there about who has the best chicken sandwich. some others at work we’re having a serious Popeye’s vs Chick-Fil-A debate. Then my daughter came home from school and reported that in her Religion class, they were having the same debate. So what better to do on a Saturday afternoon than put this to the test! I gathered up some sandwiches, adding Cane’s into the mix. Here’s our observations and conclusions...
Service: I didn’t time the drive through service, but I’ll talk in general terms. Chick-Fil-A took a while because it was a madhouse as usual. They pushed through a lot of customers ahead of me, but overall it was about as quick as could be expected. Popeye’s took a while because, well, it’s Popeye’s. There were probably about 1/3 the amount of customers ahead of me, but it took probably the same amount of time. Cane’s didn’t take too long. But after I ordered and paid and got to the pick up window, they asked me to drive around to the front door. That pissed me off a little, but it still didn’t take very long.
Cost: After tax costs. Sandwich only. Cane’s: $4.80. Popeye’s: $4:36. Chick-Fil-A: $3.88 Size: I used my food scale and weighed the entire sandwich. Cane’s: 10.5 oz. Popeye’s: 8.5 oz. Chick-Fil-A: 6.1 oz Presentation: See pictures. Cane’s is the clear winner. Popeye’s a distant 2nd, and Chick-Fil-A 3rd. All 3 of us agreed on this. Taste (Chicken):
Ballot1: Cane’s, Popeye’s, Chick-Fil-A

Ballot2: Chick-Fil-A, Popeye’s, Cane’s

Ballot3:Chick-Fil-A, Popeye’s, Cane’s

Taste (Bread): Popeye’s, Chick-Fil-A, Canes. Unanimous. Fixin’s: As it comes, with no special requests. Cane’s comes with lettuce and Cane’s sauce. Popeyes has pickles and a spicy sauce, and Chick-Fil-A had pickles only. Ranked in order, or was Popeye’s, Cane’s, Chick-Fil-A.
Overall Sandwich:

Ballot1:Popeye’s; Chick-Fil-A, Canes.
Ballot2: Popeye’s, Cane’s, Chick-Fil-A
Ballot3: Popeye’s, Chick-Fil-A, Cane’s Other observations: The Cane’s sandwich was huge compared to the other two, and also the most expensive. It came with 3 tenders and left me wondering if that’s normal or did they put an extra one on for making me drive around? I could’ve really liked the Cane’s sandwich the most. I really like the taste of the chicken with the Cane’s sauce. But the bread tasted a little stale to me, and in a pretty close race, that was enough to drop it to the bottom of my list.

Might have just seen a glimpse of the future for the PSCS:

Homewood, AL location ... the usual "who's up next" scrum of random customers on the front side of the counter ... the usual understaffed and overstressed staff on the other side.

I'm deploying my usual strategy of dealing with the wait to order by getting lost in FB/TD, when I become aware of being the focused target of being yelled at from behind the prep station: "Who's next and what do you want?", all while the sister was giving me the hot stare.

The response to my startled "Uh, a Spicy Chicken Sandwich, just the sandwich, please" is what makes this story, as she immediately handed a prepped and bagged sandwich to the cashier, with a comment of "guess I need to make another three sandwiches".

Conclusion... they are now going out so fast that Popeyes has to prep them ahead of the order?

This was my #3 PSCS experience. Spicy as Hell, and I loved it.

didn’t feel Ike cooking last night so I drove to CFA to get a refresher comparison to the Popeyes sandwich I had earlier in the week

Popeyes is substantially bigger
The bun is better
the chicken is crispier and juicier
The pickles are bigger

all that said, I still like CFA better. smeared in mayo and ketchup CFA is still the superior chicken sandwich. Although Popeyes is insanely delicious I immediately regretted eating it, whereas I was perfectly satiated by the CFA and happy to report a normal shite this morning. Couple that with the cheery greeting at CFA and the “my pleasure” on the way out and the winner is CFA in overall dining experience

Yet somehow cfa is better? You like the cfa experience more (so does everyone else) and the customer satisfaction of cfa. But just try mayo and ketchup instead of the spicy stuff lol

So Popeye's wins every metric that could be possibly used to evaluate the actual sandwich, but you prefer the other. GTFO

no
CFA tastes better despite that
it is better than the sum of its parts

Popeyes sandwich is the 2004 lakers
CFA is the 2004 pistons

Popeyes is the Instagram whore
CFA is the girl next door

Chris, it was a dress code not uniform on Hearthstone. And now preferring CFA over Popeyes sandwich(granted CFA SW Salad w/ Cilantro Lime Ranch Dressing & Frosted Lemonade are top notch)..

I'm now convinced of one too many Brother Gordian yardsticks to the noggin.

P.S. Try the new Popeyes blackeyes if you haven't yet.

I saw john gros the other nite and he corroborated your code vs uniform story. I stand by my CFA decision however and will take no further questions

Put the bayou buffalo sauce on it next time. It’s the goat. Even my go-to chik-fil-a spicy with Polynesian sauce can’t beat that.
