this area doesn't really knock it out of the park. Pomodori was definitely some of the best in a long while. but apparently he shite the bed.

1.Pizza man
2.Leonardo's
3.Meribo
4. McClain's (when he's on his game its really good, but thats not always. BUT... fantastic spot to get beer and pizza on this list IMO)
5. Mama D's
6. Theo's (its cracker crust, but tasty)
7. Coscino's

we don't exactly have mind blowing pizza round here.

Bosco's makes a good pizza

Meribo and Leonardo's are the best IMO

Lmao. It sounds like maybe Pomodori just wasn't long for this world, but go ahead and go off, gramps.

man…I need to know what people see and taste at meribo that makes it popular. Been there twice, both times it was terrible. The last time might have been the worst restaurant pizza I’ve had.

plus it is the loudest most uncomfortable dining room in the area. Those metal chairs are comical

,

Having enough starting operating capital and managing costs in order to make a profit. Most of these fly by night operations are severing under capitalized.

Builtd out your space, buy all your equipment, pay your rent, get your first truck and you haven’t even fired a pie yet. Not even getting into insurances, payroll & payroll taxes, workman’s comp, marketing, constant repairs and maintenance, utilities, and a bunch of other shite that nickel and dimes ya to death

I dont go often to Meribo. Maybe 2x a year. Always for lunch. Never been at dinner.

I don’t get their fancy white sauce pizzas. Never like those at any pizza place.

Last time I got just cheese and the time before just cheese/pepperoni. Both were good and enjoyed it.

I can only imagine how loud it is at dinner. And rushed the food is. Try lunch on a Saturday next time.

Solid breakdown. As someone that has been in and around a lot of service industry environments, I would say you take all you listed and add to it poor word of mouth or online reviews (whether true or not) and the ice starts to get thin quick.

Yep.
Also that whole thing about having some funding for marketing your place. I see so many little places open and they fail to do any marketing at all and then end up out of business in 6 months.

this is a result of not putting the product first and trying to do too much too soon. People want to like things, especially food. It takes an effort to turn opinion against you

I have a shitty review of meribo above. I can’t tell you how excited we were to go try it. First try we gave the benefit of the doubt. 2nd try and they are done for me. Oh well right? They appear to not need my business

My point is I wanted to like it and I didn’t because the product wasn’t any good

Mama D's is my other go to. It's nothing fancy like Pomodori was, but it is delicious.
