I just pulled into Poboy Express Central location and ordered an 8 piece chicken basket no drink and a regular cheeseburger poboy with fries no drink...they didn't have prices listed but I was expecting something a little north of 20 bucks, I couldn't make out what the girl said on the speaker so I pull up to the window where she hit me with $45.25!!!

My first thought was she has the wrong car or she misheard my order, I told her all I ordered was an 8 piece tender and a regular cheeseburger poboy...she said 'yes sir, 16 something for the chicken and 22 something for the cheeseburger'

Wow...it's been a month or so since I've ordered from there, but holy shite

Yeah they told me $24 for their smallest combo box the other day. They just decided to write “market price” on everything

Was the CB poboy the large or the small poboy? Hard for me to imagine the small CB poboy being $22 when my small shrimp poboy was $8.50.

I guess beef shortage? But wow...at what point as a fast food type business owner do you say 'ok, I can't ask someone to pay $23 for a regular size burger poboy"

I guess people are paying whatever price they're told, because they don't have any prices listed on their speaker board

Something about this ain’t right. Are we talking a 14 inch cheeseburger poboy with 2-3 patties?

I've been posting for 17 years, I can't think that of one time where I started a thread on the food board out of hyperbole or sensationalism.

8 piece chicken $11.99
Large cheeseburger poboy (which is like 2 cheeseburgers) $16.99
Order of fries $3.50

Around $33 before tax so shouldn't have been $45 but I'd expect $35-$38 for that.

Just looked at their prices on Waitr. That is absolutely ridiculous!!! I guess be wary of any place that suddenly starts listing prices as MP.

Waitr says a burger on a bun is $10 and a double burger is $20. A burger Poboy is $20.

A burger Poboy is 2 burgers. Of course it’s going to be high.

Not sure what location you're looking at

I did add cheese so maybe that pushed it over $45!

I went yesterday to the one in Central. 11.95 for a cheeseburger. It was $17 after a drink and tax. Never again.

I know everyone has different taste, but the bun was heavily seeded top and bottom. Not my jam. The beef patty was processed.

Today, I hit Jerry Lee's for a BBQ poboy, a bag of chips, and a drink. $8ish.
