Do you have a preference for how the poboy bread is sliced? The last shrimp poboy I had was overstuffed. The bread was in two pieces so most of the shrimp fell out. Annoying!

I prefer if the bread is hinged so that not all of the toppings fall out when you bite into it.

Hinged, you can turn it into the “angled tray” and hold most of it in there..

So do you eat your hot dog on an unhinged bun below I-10?

I prefer 2 pieces only due to having uneven distribution of shrimp on a hinged piece.

I like 2 pieces for shrimp or oyster and even something like ham, but hinged for a sloppy roast beef.

Mom, I think they’re trying to say that below I-10, their hands are too small to hold it all together, so they split it?

hinged only seems to make sense for philly cheese steak.

Yep, hinged for anything sloppy and two pieces for everything else.

Great important debate, but broader than po boy issue.

For instance, on an Italian sub, think you have to go inged so you get the rounded flavors of each component in every bite. Cheesesteak or anything sloppy, you want the hinge.

Fried seafood or hot sausage, I think you go split in two, but smooshed down with the palm of your hand, prior to eating.

Well, I guess I need to start smooshing.

for some reason with the "hinged" version i feel like i'm getting cheated when i bite into that side of the sandwich, it's mostly bread.

I agree with that but that's the way I felt last time with the unhinged bread and most of the shrimp falling off.

I'm thinking the smooshing might be key!

Definitely hinged. And I'm well below I-10.

eta: it's just a preference thing. Not like putting tomatoes in a jambalaya, which is a regional thing. IMO, FWIW

2 separate pieces. Load it down, mash it, and eat. It's not like I'm not going to destroy whatever falls out of it anyway.
