Pizza Domenica - Uptown NOLA

Since when did Pizza Domenica on Magazine stop serving lunch during the week? Any idea why? Seems like a busy area during the week to be closed for lunch.

I just noticed this last week myself. I don't know if it's a summer thing, or permanent.

They will be open Fri's for lunch, and have a beer special from 11-6. Not sure why just Fri.

I'm guessing cause the feels like temp is about 109 consistent during the day and that probably makes it a dog fight for limited summer weekday day time customers

Just talked to a buddy who told me that they haven't been doing well lately. Hopefully it picks up for them when the weather cools off.

Maybe they should serve half orders of the cauliflower

And teach people to angle park on the side of the building instead of parallel....six cars vs two cars.

The beer special announcement came to me via an email from The Besh Group - on Fri's from 11-6, you get 4 beers for $10. Didn't say if it was limited to certain beers. Still looks to be a good deal.

I think it's a "flight of beers"
Probably 6 oz'ers?

I liked this place when I first went and the quality of the food has slipped in the last few months.

People got tired of paying $16 bucks for a "pizza" where you get one full bite that includes toppings then are stuck with just cooked dough?

Email didn't state any size or other restriction re beer. But, 6oz flight would make sense, and would still be a good deal.
Haven't been there in awhile, but I've always enjoyed the food. Would be disappointed if the place couldn't make it. Everytime I've gone (always a weekend night), it's been slammed.

This place is slammed every time I go there. If it's hurting it isn't because of a lack of revenue.

The traffic situation around Jefferson/St Charles has kept me out of the immediate area. For a while, crossing over Jefferson at Magazine was like playing russian roulette--the light worked intermittently, the damn bus would run thru no matter what, & the traffic would back up to Nashville. So anything on the riverside of St Charles is currently in a lunch no-fly zone until some of that mess gets finished. So no Domenica Pizza, no Rivista, etc.

Pretty sure I was there with you, OBrah, and Zealot one day and you didn't bitch about it.

I hope it's lasts. It's a quaint location, but they need to step their game up as far as quality is concerned.

I have been to other establishments since that employ that style of pizza and have come to realize they are gipping customers re: toppings : crust ratio. Hence the change of mind. PD seemed to get comically worse the last few times I went.
