Pizza Delicious

I spent 11 years at DeAngelos in their Prime - 1995-2006
I always thought that was the best calzone and pizza, period. Housemade dough, grande cheese, housemade sauce. We were proud of the product we put out.
I truly believe that Pizza Delicious is the best in this region and reminds me a lot of the old days.
Are there any other places that are similar in taste and quality and texture?
Pizza shack in opelousas is incredible, but it's also a very different style.

I’ve never had PD, nor have I had Nola or Paulie Gee’s. I’m hoping to make it down there in the very near future to do a blind taste test of the three.

MCP just reminds me of a gourmet Papa John's. It's not bad, but it's not great.

Agreed - I had MCP and thought it was good, but nothing special

I agree that DeAngelo's way back in the day was an excellent pizza. I don't know if they expanded too much too fast, or if Louis just got distracted with all his other projects, but it went down quickly and now it's just a distant memory. Tragedy.

RIP DeAngelo's. Hammond Aire location Was the place to eat when I was younger. Expanded to a handful of locations and then just faded away.

Stopped by Pour House in Hammond Saturday for the first time. 4 of us split 3 pizzas and they were all phenomenal. Great beer selection too including Rally Cap, GB, etc. Extremely reasonable prices. I’ll be back for sure

There was one in Central for a short while.
I'm not sure if their chicken parmesan used the standard red sauce or not but it was amazing.

It’s definitely an inconsistent operation. At it’s peak, it’s legit as they come

pizza domenica is pretty good, but it's a little more gourmet
