I like Seagrams 7 with a little water, does that make me trashy? If so the hell with it. My palete can't taste much difference from 7 to makers so why spend the extra money?

I am 100% bourbon whiskey man. The only way to know what you like is to try them the way you like your's served: neat, on the rocks, or a mixer.

A really well made/aged bourbon tastes terrible mixed to me, like a super sweet fountain drink. Woodford, Jefferson Reserve, Four roses, etc.

My Go Tos:

Styrofoam cup at the camp or tailgate with Sprite Zero: Charter or Buffalo Trace.
After work at the house: Woodford on da rocks occasionally with a lime.
Nice bar or restaurant celebrating: Four Roses, JR, or Woodford on da rocks.

Just bought a bottle of Hirsch. I had never even heard of it, but it's damn good.

Maker's Mark.

If you're willing to try a blended scotch, I recommend The Famous Grouse.

This is a good list to start I think. I love woodford on the rocks- it stays in my house. If I'm mixing, I go with Buffalo Trace or makers, which is also good on the rocks.
