Going to be a rebel and take the family to Orange Beach this weekend for some beach relaxation. Planning on picking up a few six packs to bring home, of stuff we can't get here in NOLA.

Any suggestions on what to look for? Also, I'm assuming either Publix or Rouses would be my best bet? I probably will only have time to get away for one short trip to the store =)

Edit: Thanks for the shop recommendations. I will go there. Once I am there, any recs for good stuff I can't find in LA?

Have not been there in a few years (last time in OB) but a bottle shop is always #1 to goto.

Big Beach was putting some good stuff out last summer. But I haven’t been over there in a while.

Big Beach Brewing has really been on a roll lately. OP should stop in and get some crowlers.

Trimtab puts out some great stuff. I would assume they distribute all over Alabama.

I can’t recall ever seeing it down there, but I doubt their really good stuff hits shelves down there anyway. A lot of it doesn’t even make it to Bham shelves, though they’re distributing a lot more because they can’t open their taproom. I would not recommend their regular IPA.

Is Cigar City available in LA? If not, Jai Alai is good.

It recently started distributing here - probably within last year. Yes, I like it. Before they started here, I used to always pick some up when going to AL or FL.

Oskar Blues Austin started contract brewing for Cigar City a year or so ago. That might be connected to recent LA distribution.

I really like Good People IPA. Probably will be available as it is an Alabama brewery.

Everything I have tried from Good People has been solid.

Yep, and if you see their spring seasonal IPA, Hitchhiker, it's even better.

Their Snake Handler DIPA may be available down there. They just did a run of it in cans a few weeks ago. It's great, but clocks in at around 11% so not an all day at the beach beer.

Rouses has a huge selection. Any liquor store should have a decent selection also. So many IPA’s available from this region that will have no problems to find it readily available. I’ve had Hi-Wire on tap out of Asheville today in Ft Morgan.
