I don't think this is the problem. It's more that tightly regulated structures that realistically scale for the size of the crowd typically don't exist UNLESS it's something the host does regularly. How many large scale releases has Parish done? Two Grand Reserve days? I would expect there to still be kinks to work out.
That being said, I've been to plenty of beer events that WERE structured well -- those went off without a hitch. Experience matters.

I don't, thats why i asked the question originally, scroll up a few more posts. I assumed there would be something other than just letting everyone attack the bar inside.

3 GR days and they flow pretty damn well.
Not sure what improvements should be expected.

The events at Parish run very well. Helps that it's a pretty lame place to hang out so most people get their brews and peace out.
