I bought 4lbs of jumbo gulf shrimp yesterday. They packed them to travel, in plastic bags and ice. I did not want to shrimp up my beer ice chest so I put them in the back of my truck for the ride home. Checked on them when I got home about 9pm, still plenty of ice. Decided to let them hang there for a while before I put them in the fridge. Made a cocktail or 3 and forgot the sumbitches in the truck. Woke up at 4am, remembered and ran out there. All the ice is gone and drained off. The shrimp are cool, not cold. I put them in the fridge. They still don’t stink, just smell like shrimp. Would you eat them?

I wouldn't be too concerned since it was late night and even though it was probably in the 80's, at least they were not in the sunlight and high heat of the day.

If they were cool to the touch and haven't turned color, I'd still use them. When you go to peel them make sure the meat is still firm and not slimy feeling and soft.

That is, unless you are going to do a BBQ shrimp recipe where you peel them after they are cooked.

Yes, I'd still eat them. If they were still cool, they'll be fine. If they still smell fresh, they're good. You'd smell that chlorine sort of smell or that stink if they weren't.

Make sure your fat BIL tries them first. If they tear his innerds up, chunk them.

Those shrimp present huge risk of environmental damage. I’ll be right over to professionally dispose of them.

I'd eat them because Gris Gris said she'd eat them. I'd figure she would know.

If they were bad you would know from the color and the smell. If still cool, you are all good.

Yes - with quickness.

Or at least cook them and get the cooked shrimps into the refrigerator.

You should be able to eat 4 pounds all by yourself in one setting.

I think the food board likes to see how many people they can punish for leaving shite out by telling them to go eat it

Normally I would tell folks to not eat, but I agree that they were fine and told Balls that. Besides he lives in Rayvegas with the air, ground and water full of Bean dust, cotton poison, herbicide, Roundup and all. He can eat anything.

When you eat them, just pretend you're at a Chinese buffet.

I’m alive! My phone not so much. After making this thread I promptly dropped it in my swimming pool. The shrimp got bbq-ed and turned out great.
