you are one miserable POS you know. It was a rant on how I could not find a table at a decent hour 15 days out on NYE and set menus. Which led to suggestions from other more civil F&D posters. This is not the rant or the OT. I've seen you post before, hence the 55k+ post, and you seem like a sad dude. Get a life amigo, sitting around being fat and watching pornhub all day will not make you a happy person.

Goodness!
I think you waited late to make an NYE reservation particularly with your requirements. Open Table didn't mess you up. Locals also use it. You messed you up. Many restaurants have set menus. It's probably more the norm than not.

I can't recall your OP, but did you try Delmonico or Doris Metropolitan? Emeril's?

ETA: I see you tried Doris.
Good luck.

The only food I will eat on Christmas or NYE is take out Chinese.

I haven't done it in about 15 years.

Ruth's in Harrah's Hotel is better than all those places you listed and I'm positive you can get. They also don't have a fixed mene on NYE.

Not only are these places doing a set 4-5 course menu (besides Tchop House) but we can't even get a reservation 15 days in advance for around 8pm.

So you are complaining because you didn't plan ahead? You are trying to go to popular restaurants on NYE and you think calling 15 days ahead is going to get it done? I used Opentable last month to try and book a reservation at Shaya. I was aware of how popular it was, so November 12th i used it to book a reservation for December 19th. No dice. So i settled for last weekend, December 12th, and got 2 of the last remaining reservations that night.

I called all these places and was pretty much told that 90% of these reservations were booked through opentable.com.

It's called technology. Deal with it, or don't, and enjoy eating at home.

fricking NYE, amateur hour! go back to your own city Newbs!

Yeah, because restaurants should only cater to locals. That is a tremendous business model...
