I've been using this app for a few years now and have been pretty satisfied until now. The lady and I had a handful of restaurants we wanted to try including Doris Met, Tchop House, Mr. Johns and Desi Vega for NYE dinner. Not only are these places doing a set 4-5 course menu (besides Tchop House) but we can't even get a reservation 15 days in advance for around 8pm. Would spending $110 a person set menu(not including wine) at Desi Vega for 9:45pm be worth it? I think not!

I called all these places and was pretty much told that 90% of these reservations were booked through opentable.com.

fricking NYE, amateur hour! go back to your own city Newbs!

Holidays can be the worst time to dine out. Busy room, busy kitchen, and less than enthusiastic staff. I won't even mention the falling bullets in NOLA.

This may be a blessing for you.

Splurge on a couple high quality cuts. Get some fresh cut flowers. Make a nice early Supper for your lady.

Make brunch plans for NYD.

Trump President and shut their arse down

I dunno, a bottle of wine down and ranting, really no suggestion

What are some other restaurants to hit up. She's not from here and I've been out of state for a while and out the loop. I still have a condo in the warehouse dist. and was trying to find something walking distance. I really wanted steak but looks like that's not going to happen.

May as well get that wagyu cut at Rouses if still available. Only problem is that I have a gas grill in the courtyard. Kinda nervous to throw good cuts on that thing.

Sounds like the younger generation got the drop on you, Pops. Need to get your game up and quit waiting for people to answer the phone.

sup brah...

Give me some off the beaten path uptown options that may be an option. Does not necessarily have to be steak. She's not from here and I've been out of state for a while.

Okay, maybe confusing Desi for one of the other places I called. But still not looking for a 5 course set menu for $110 a head. We are looking for 2 cuts of good meat, some bone marrow, maybe some sweetbreads if we get really wild and asparagus. I don't mind spending money but want to choose from regular menu.

Did you call Mr Johns? Desi items both those places, same restaurants I believe.

It is NYE, maybe there is a Ryan's in Metairie that will cater to your demands.

See what LaBoca has open.

If not that, go to nomenu.com and search by hood. WHD should have plenty of places to fit your search.

I've been a handful of times and absolutly love that place. Unfortunately, they are booked all night as well.

Is rio mar still open? I remember they were owned by the same people who own LaBoca.
